Racethetix MS6 Tucked A/C line

Very little activity in this forum, first thread besides the vendor introduction thread...

So, I was needing some A/C work done, so I figured if I'm having to have work done I might as well get the Racethetix MS6 Tucked A/C line. Not something I had to have, but I figured I might as well get it.

They offer it in two versions, V1 and V2. The V2 only replaces the upper half of the OEM 2-piece hose. According to the vendor, "makes installing this custom line just alot easier". Well, if the V2 is a lot easier to install, figured I should just get that.

Well, my shop misunderstood the install. He felt the V2 hose was too short. But I guess he didn't see the right route.

Since I thought that meant I needed a V1, I contacted the vendor, and he shipped me a V1 overnight. Now, for some reason, when he first shipped me the original V2, it took him nearly a month to do so. It wasn't really a problem, it's not summer yet anyway. But if it was going to take another month to get the V1 I would have just had to finish the work in progress and forgo the tucked line. Fortunately he said he could ship it overnight. And he charged me a reasonable $45 to get it shipped overnight.

So I got the new A/C line installed. My original post above had some bad information so I have corrected it.

As far as the installation, it’s totally hidden. You can't hardly even see it in the picture with the turbo, it is heading down and around.

I initially got the V2 hose but my shop didn’t think it would reach. But maybe he didn't know the right route to take. So the route he is taking is presumably longer than what it should be.

So I am using a V1 hose, but probably could have used a V2 if we knew the right route to take. In any case, it is installed and looks good. Even if it is going a long way around....

Chad sent me a photo of how the V2 should be installed. I'm sure it must be able to be made to work. But again, my shop insisted it was just too short and would hit the pulleys. Yet I'm sure Racethetix has successfully installed V2's. So, I guess the issue must be my shop. But what can I do if my shop said it wouldn't work? Bottom line is, I'm happy with the install. if you are contemplating buying this, I suggest you ask them how long the V2 hose is, cut a piece of scrap hose you might have to length and see if you can make it fit before buying. If, perchance, you think the V2 is too short, then get the V1. The hoses are identical other than the length.

I can see why the routed the hose the other way, the fitting looks tucked in on the photos on his website. also do you have to getc rid of your passenger wheel splash shield to properly support the hose?
