Had the pleasure of doing some R&D on 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege lady weekend. Front bumper had several measures to keep it flush with the body, but it never worked well. Took a couple pairs of my 1st gen Mazdaspeed brackets as did some testing, along with the American Made Quik-Latch.com latches. First day was a successful proof of concept. Will need a better way to secure it to the body. A little more hardware is needed. But the idea is that 2 MS3 kits will give the 3rd Gen Protege a better bumper fitment without rubber bands or even rivets. If all goes well, these will be added to the Mazdaspeeds.org Store!

Looks good, but it does seem as though you got a little carried away with that drill on that fender.

That's what I thought too at first glance, but those were from the owners previous attempts at a bumper fix.

Nothing some ricey carbon fiber band aid shaped stickers cant fix.

Life got in the way, but I think a pair of ms3 Gen1 brackets and some hardware will fix 3rd Gen Protege! News to come!

Progess!
Mazdaspeed Protege Owners! More testing completed on a 2003 MSP. Using a 1st Gen MS3 RaiderFab kit and Quik-latch.com latches, we got a secured bumper! A set of stainless steel hardware to an existing hole in the fender got it held well. There is no crash at, fender liner, nor undertray, so a solution was needed. Will be installing 1 more latch, which will use standard QL-25 mini latch, up near the headlight. Drilling will be required however. Pretty excited for a production release soon! DM me with any questions!
