replacement of valve stem seals and springs for mazdaspeed 6

I would have asked if anyone has experience with this? How many hours of work does it take approximately? I was thinking of cleaning the valves of deposits at the same time and wondering if it would have been a good idea to replace the seals/springs in question at the same time. The car has about 180k miles. What else is worth replacing at the same time when the valve cover has been opened? thanx.

have you done a leak down test? I wouldn't be going to replace them just for the sake of replacing them.

if you're concerned do a leak down test and go from there otherwise just clean your intake valves, you don't take your valve cover off to do that.

Are you upgrading to stiffer springs? If not I doubt there is a reason to change them. Leakdown test to determine if the seals would be necessary as well. Intake valve cleaning and injector cleaning make a massive difference. And if you fail the leak down test I would suggest cleaning the valves before assuming it's your seals because it's most likely caused by an inability to properly seal the valves due to carbon buildup.
