Replacing OEM stock suspension: overwhelmed by choices

109k miles on stock suspension. I don't drive on the track, just street. I want to be able to play with the ride height - I'm thinking of lowering may 1/2-3/4" below stock height.

I'm looking to find a balance between comfort and performance. I'm not looking to mess with the camber.

Folks have experience with the BC Racing BR series coil overs? I've seen the Bilstein B16 mentioned a lot. I was looking at the Cork Sport coil overs but I've seen too many mixed reviews on them.

Ideally I'd like to spend no more than $1500 but willing to pay for a good setup.

I am going through the same questions in my head... I have always run Koni yellows as my go to for everything I build up ( lol, build up, who I am kidding.. I'm old and lazy now)
But seriously though, I've had 5 cars with konis and loved them! I will probably go that route again with either the stock springs or a minimal drop spring.
I have used tein ( stiff ), Tokico ( bouncy), Bilstein (smooth and comfortable), KYB ( meh ), and a few others I can't remember.
The Koni setups ranged from full coilovers with spherical ball mounts and all the bells and whistles to basic yellows with stock springs. They did it all. Thats the beauty of them.
The thing about lots of coilover kits now is they use those spherical ball mounts like they are the best to have but that's not ideal for anything on the street. They are loud and wear out quickly. That's a fact. Yes they are quick and precise but they also dry out and rattle. I had a spherical rear sway bar and it was insane how loud it became after a year of driving on the street. All those balls developed a small amount of play in them and rattled me like a can of nails.
So out with those and I replaced them with regular urethane mounts.... ahhh
The same car had upper strut mounts in the camber plates with the same bearings and they clunked and knocked all the time. They were better as they were a bigger bearing but they still over time wore out. That is something to consider for sure as some of the cheaper coilover kits will use cheaper bearings and not the good Aurora bearings, or similarly good bearings. If it's a daily you should consider that.

I think I also made up my own mind... I'm ordering Koni yellows haha
