There was some FB thread that mentioned it. I don't remember the guy's name, but he had some comprehensive guide to beat this DTC and he mentioned that. I can try again without the ziptie, but it already gave me a pending code on first try when I did not have the ziptie on with OEM stuff.

I'm now trying to understand the way Versatune's DTC editor works. You turn a DTC off, BUT that doesn't mean that relevant monitor is turned off right? Example, both P2004 and P2010 are related to VTCS monitor, right? So if I turn off P2010, that doesn't mean that the monitor related to VTCS is turned off, right? Because P2004 can still trigger. Further, if I turned off P2010 and P2004, that wouldn't translate to 2 monitors off, right? I'm weighing my options considering NYC does OBD2 inspections allowing only 1 monitor "Not Ready".... Or, I guess, also "Incomplete" if that makes a difference.

I believe it just puts it into permanent not ready so you won't get a light on the dash but might not be able to pass emissions depending on the state. In Maryland we are allowed one not ready to pass emissions
 
Same as NYC, only one not ready allowed. So if that were the case and I was being plagued by P2010.... Just for argument's sake, of course, by turning off the DTC to P2010, you'd be able to still pass an emissions check if all other monitors were able to reach Ready state?

Same scenario, if P2010 AND P2004 were an issue, would turning both DTCs off still create a condition where you'd be able to pass inspection?

I think so for one code but I haven't actually done it myself turning off two codes will make two not readies

I turned off the P2010 and really hoping that will be the only one to pop. Going to do more idle testing today and tomorrow and see what happens.

I was under the impression that if you turned off more than 1 code, but they all pertained to the same sensor, that it would still only keep that 1 sensor "not ready" - like if I turned off P2004 and P2010 (both related to VTCS) that only the VTCS side of things would remain "not ready." I guess that's not correct?
 
So far, so good. Idled another 40ish minutes last night and kept an eye on DTC reader - nothing popped, nothing pending. Obviously without putting some mileage on it, not all monitors are showing ready, but I don't remember getting other codes besides these ones when I was driving and logging months ago. Will probably do another test tonight and tomorrow to see how things go before applying for registration again.
