Standard Knobs

My goodness that looks great installed; was talking with Ken in shout today about how I plan to replace my JBR knob with one of his once I settle on which design I like best (sphere, R or beagle), and I think this just made my mind up.

Looks like you're running a proper short shifter as opposed to SSP, as well, yeah? If so, which one is that?

Yea I love it! All I'm running is the Corksport short shift dealy that bolts to the shift handle. The type r knob was threaded deeper than oem so it dropped the overall shifter height. It's great, I'm very pleased!

Sorry if I'm being dense, but I'm slightly unclear: that's the CS short shifter (throw/height adjustable) or just their short shift plate (throw only)?

I ask because I'm considering swapping out my short shift plate for a proper short shifter, so I'm trying to imagine what the combo of lowered height plus this shift knob would look like. If it'll end up being too low for my taste, then I'll just have to grab a maisonvi extender, as well, I suppose! :P

It's throw only. I would ditch the under hood ssp in favor of this.

I would recommend a short shifter over a plate any day. I went from a SSP I made to a Cobb shifter and it's so much nicer. Granted the Damond motorsports ssp is nice if you want to go that route.

I've had the CS SPP for a couple of years and it's been nice, but it's occasionally finicky with going into gear despite all of the times I've tweaked the adjustment on it. I'm ready to upgrade to a proper short shifter, so I just need to choose one. I've looked at JBR, CS and TMW to compare to one a other, I didn't realize Cobb also offers one.

No idea if cobb still does and when they did it was only for the gen 1

Yeah, doesn't look like Cobb's is available any longer...probably would have been priced higher than I want to pay, anyway. Likely going to go with the JBR, although I like the idea of being able to retain more height with CS's dual-adjustable. Not sure it's worth the additional cost, though, and I'm also not sure how much I'd like to have the knob shifted away from the driver side due to the lack of bend in the stalk like OEM has and JBR retains. Pros and cons to both, it seems.

@Maisonvi Do you still have the aluminum extender knob? If so, how much for it in black? I saw that you made one a while ago but it was on your Facebook page.

I don't have any in black. Just the raw aluminum (silver) finish.

That or I could have sent it to relentless customs before they closed up shop. I had them do a bunch for me

Oh okay, well I'll be picking up a Desert Beagle soon & I might want it in a Bronze or a Gold. I'll have to find a shop around here willing to coat it if possible.
