Just was browsing the local and came across this. Usually with intake + testpipe + ethanol you can hit 300/350 @ the wheels on a healthy motor. It could just be your logging sport. Then again, since it's a flash tune instead of a full custom, that could be the difference too.
Didn't have testpipe when I ran those datalogs. Both logs were done on smooth roads, though both were going slightly uphill. Not really worried about the power/torque numbers and am more concerned about how the car feels. That E85 tune feels great and it pulls really well.
I thought the Stage2 E85 flash tune was fast enough for me, the Stage3 map should be even more fun.
There's nothing like a full custom tune for E30 or so once you're fully bolted. You can expect 320-330/360-380 @ the wheels when you're done. Lex may want to stop at 360wtq, but Justin was fine putting me at 380. The K04 will support that level, and even more, if you're low enough in the powerband that its limited flow is a non-issue. But it's a catch-22: K04s can make a TON of wtq, but in a rev range that it's unwise to do so, becuz rods.
Thing is, once you've done a flash tune, many tuners will let you apply the money you've already spent on the flash tune toward a full tune. So it's almost always the best deal to just stick with the guy you chose and go full tune.
I hear ya. Dizzy and Purple Drank are also reputable and very competitively priced. Back when I first was tuned by Justin, the prices were lower. But he's in such high-demand now, the prices have gone up. Regardless, any of these guys are worth every penny that they charge.
