It's been a while, but it's time for an update!
So, after finding out that I didn't have a CS intake manifold locked down I started looking around for other options. I ended up finding a car for sale in a Facebook group and noticed that he had a CS manifold on the car. I decided to message the guy and ask if he was entertaining a partout or not and to my surprise he'd just started the partout, but there was a catch... a buddy had dibs on the manifold. He gave the guy a week or so to come up with the money, but the guy ended up backing out of the deal, so I got my CS manifold after all! With the saved money I bought the CS hood scoop that he had (rice) and I'm gonna be color matching that to my hood rather than having the ricey carbon fiber. I've also got some stuff at the powdercoating shop right now. $120 to powdercoat my intake mani, fuel rail, intake pieces, and battery tray. That includes sandblasting, since all of them had some sort of coating on them before, so I got a pretty smokin' deal.
We were having some issues with the pulley for my crank keying and ended up having to get a new one machined to match it. Still waiting on that and the shift forks and I should be good to go. Fuel lines are all finished up and looking good, but Chris is adding a couple fittings for my ethanol sensor to tie into everything.
One other thing that I'm gonna have some issues with, is I was planning on using an O2 extender to fix my cat codes. Apparently those don't work on genpus... So I've got to figure out a fix for the cat code with some sort of resistor or something (I've heard bad things about modifying O2 sensor wires) or I've got to find out a way to fake out the EGR with a solution similar to the VTCS relay fix. If anybody has any input for that, I'd really appreciate it.
