I’ll be front im not super mechanically informed so I don’t know specially what it is but I do know it’s on the shifter linkage. The guy I bought it from had put on the heavier shift feel from Cobb he said so he did something down there. It’s right at where the linkage sits on top of the trans and basically controls the entire shifting. I’m taking it to a mechanic tomorrow but I figured maybe some other Speed 3 owners have had the same leak.

Any info helps!

Thanks!

The leak is from the "pivot shaft seal." The pivot shaft being a vertical rod that the transmission side of the shifter assembly moves on.

It is more common on gen1 than on gen2, but it does eventually happen to everyone. You can buy the seal by itself and replace it, but I think someone recently found a part number for the plate which includes the seal, bearing, (except the breather) all ready to go. You would just need to swap the shaft itself.

Here is the How To that Eric was able to save from the old forum.
