Tire preferences for bt applications

So what do you guys and gals prefer?
Depends on what you want.

Price?
Longevity?
Season/weather considerations?
Comfort?

If you don't care about any of the above, get a drag radial lol.

Edit: My last two sets of tires have been, BFG Rivals, and Nitto NT05.

Price and I live in Texas 80% of the year it's summer lol
If not costal, and not 40 or 50 miles a day, then I would look for the ultra, max, performance type of tires. lol.

They can be scary after water starts to pool, but if not to common, then that is what I'd choose.

Somme are better for straight line, others for turning. Honestly just have to read reviews.

I'm in the same boat.

That's why I started the thread just to see what others were running I drive maybe 60 miles a day if that on average but there is times I go on trips

Well, this guy copied me to a T. My last 2 sets of tires were Rivals and I'm currently on NT-05s. As far as dry handling they're about even, NT-05s have a slight advantage (in my opinion), but wet the NTs blow the Rivals out of the water. I would hydroplane a shit ton any speed above 50 in the Rivals, but the NTs feel solid at 65-70 in pouring rain. I've had PSS and absolutely hated them for traction. Could not get the damn tires to hook in 3rd hardly.

Edit: I'm in DFW by the way, so I agree about getting ultra high performance tires since we typically don't see much rain during the summer.

Hell yea these past couple weeks have been literal hell. My poor car. But I'll try the nts out

Hands down the Rivals were better all around IMO. However I can't give an exact comparison since both of these tires were on different setups, but the Rivals felt better to me. They inspired confidence, they were like just do what you do, and we'll cover the rest lol.

I have pilot super sports now, since i put on the bnr s4, i guess thats considered big, they loss traction in 3rd gear pretty easily.

Looking at kumho v720 and bridgestone re71. Kumhos are good price

I'm running Bridgestone S04 Pole Positions with my tired K04 OTS+ tune, and they're great, but seem to be just under their limit for straight line acceleration - occasionally breaking loose in 3rd. My S4 is sitting on the table waiting to drop in. I know I'm going to have traction problems once I tune with E85. I thought super sports were supposed to be the shit, but no match for stock block + s4?? I see mixed reviews for the Nittos. Wondering where to go from here for SoCal roads and occasional track use.

I had Direzas Star Spec and hated them.
Loved my RE11A's and got almost 30k from them, but they're discontinued, so may be try regular RE11
For last couple weeks I have Michelin Super Sports - not bad at all, just too little time for conclusion.

I run a set of Hankook RS3. I love these tires. They are a bit noisy (but so is my car) but the grip is amazing. Im sure life wont be terribly long, but grip is what Im paying for.

We have NT-05s on our shop speed 3 currently. The handle the rain up here decent, great dry tire.
I've got it on good authority that NT-05s are a great dot race rain tire. It was from a guy who races a Datsun 510 and is kinda crazy, but I trust him.

I'm currently on BF Goodrich G-Force Comp2s for summer and they've been great since running them last summer. I also run Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS for the transition to winter either has been good. I ran the Potenzas at the dragon in the spring of 2015 and they did very well.

tapatalk, it sucks

245/40/17 on my summer wheels
225/40/18 on my all seasons
205/55/16 on my winters

We run a 235/35/19 NT05 on our white speed 3.
Why is it that you prefer running 19 inch wheels on your MS3s? I believe your black genpu before it got totaled, was also running Advan 19 inch wheels. Just wondering since the trend nowadays is to downsize to 17 inch wheels and go wider tires.

245/40/17 Hankook RS3 (daily)
235/45/18 BFG Sport comp 2 (old daily)
245/40/17 Kuhmo XS (track)
225/45/18 Michelin Ice-X (winter)

I've liked all of these for different reasons. Good grip for BT on all really.

Also should mention that I had Hankook Evo V12s previously. They were nice as far as life span, and good on the stock turbo. When I went bt they just didn't cut it traction wise.
