Tire wear more in rear?

I have always owned FWD cars and look at the front tires habitually to see tire wear. I’ve been doing the same with my MS6 thinking it’s primarily a FWD car (even though I regularly push it hard in acceleration).

Today I noticed the rear tires are really worn. At least twice as much as the front, maybe more. I’m not sure if that’s from me or the previous owner.

Is that typical for MS6’s?

How are they worn? More on the innermost edge such as a toe condition or across the surface such as too much negative camber?

It could be a toe concern and usually that's what I see causing wear on people's cars unless they are slammed to the ground without correcting the negative camber that comes with lowering

When was your last alignment and did the shop give you a printout with the before and after specs?

Thanks for the reply!

I’m speaking about overall wear. There is good tread life on the front but the rear is done. One rear side is nearly bald (perhaps the previous owner was drifting…? :) ) and I’m surprised it even passed inspection 5 months ago.

I’ve been pretty negligent with the tires because the previous owner said they were relatively new and I had just been looking at the fronts. I’ve only driven the car maybe 5000 miles since getting it.

I'm sure PO didn't replace all 4. Buy four new tires.

Looking at the fronts and rears from the side they look identical in age, fairly new. You can still even see some of the little rubber pointy things on the sides.

Same make and model? Same DOT date? Maybe he rotated once? Not likely to get wear like that unless junk tires somehow wore more in rear. So I think was PO and you didn't notice. Now that you have buy 4 new tires and keep an eye on them and rotate idk what else to say

3 tires are 0518 (two rear and one front) and one (front) is 3218. The week 5 front is not significantly more worn than the week 32 front.

So I gather that wearing more in the rear isn’t a normal thing for the MS6. That’s fine, thanks. Based on the seller (who was friendly), who basically ruined two engines and the transmission wasn’t great, perhaps he was overly harsh with it.

I’ll get tires in hopefully not too long.
