Welcome to Mazdaspeeds.org!

Hi Everyone. Making this in a way to test things, but also to welcome you to the era of Mazdaspeed forums. Many of you have been on other forums before, and wanted a new outlet to join, comment, meet up and share ideas. That is what MSO is for. The big difference is we will be pushing for a more positive and helpful environment. A hands-off (no bashing) Q&A section is one of those ways we hope to improve the forum experience for newer members who might not be the most technical. That said, it is about attitude. Come in acting like a jerk, expect to be treated as such.

More to be posted.

This community is a great alternative. We all have to push MSO to our social media networks and let other know this is the spot and patrol our own so it doesn't turn into a undesirable forum.

I know for a fact that MSF would NEVER get MazdaUSA support with the rep it obtained over the years. That's unfortunate and one of the many reasons I backed away. It was to dangerous for me who works for Mazda to be associated.

We have a chance to become the leader with all the knowledge that a lot of members have here.

I'm looking forward to watching it grow.

Old man rant incoming.

MSF was created as a place where people could go and post without worrying about vendors, consequences or repercussions. It was punk rock at it's inception. Not worrying about anything, no vendors, no rules, they didn't want to be accepted. Much like punk rock in the beginnning, they didn't care about anything other than getting their message out. Punkers of their day didn't care if their records sold or not.

We were MSF and we were proud, we had cars that could slay and slayed just about anything in it's price range and beyond.
Everyone there in the beginning was a hard ass and people either got it, or didn't and moved on. Those that stayed, loved it and protected it to the hilt. It became a quasi family/cult thing to belong to MSF.

MSF came at a perfect time, between the speed 6, the genwon and the pu, there was never a better time to be a forum member. It went from less than 2000 members when I joined to prolly over 50k at it's height.

Some of you may think the owner is an asshat, he's never done anything bad to me so I cannot comment on that. I will say that he was very hands off after a couple of years. If it wasn't for people Like Eric, that place would've gone to shit a long, long time ago. From what I saw, the owner never remunerated anyone there, taking all the money that was donated for himself.

Having said all that, I did not join MSO to bash MSF, I will not talk behind someone's back when they're not their to defend themselves. As someone who has been personally castigated in life, I know what it's like to have someone talk about you when you leave the room. I do not go for that.

I know all the hard work that Eric(and others) put into MSF without one ounce of recongnition, I really want him and MSO to succeed but I don't want this to become an Us and Them thing. I've made lifelong friendships not In Spite of MSF but Because of MSF. Let's remember all the good that was done there. From all the donations for blown motors, to natural disasters, to brothers helping brothers.

I'm sorry @MazdaMovement; I do not mean to derail your post but I just felt it necessary to expound on my views.

I actually agree with you. It's not productive to bash anything. It was the reason that I have become the "Switzerland" of the Mazda social media community because I heard no alliangance to no company. My 3 MS3's had parts from them all and was proud to let everyone know.

Now coming from a corporate side and being with Mazda it's a bit different these last 3 years. I have to watch what I support, post and share. This is definitely a safer environment for me to share and will be a great alternative to Mazda owners. I personally love MSF even though I had to watch everyday from the sidelines. Referred it daily for those seeking advice about issues and problems. That place has a ton of knowledge. But, when you bring it up some would say they tried it and got cussed out or bashed because of a question. Being told to "Google It" isn't good enough anymore. They wanted real advice and not a computer giving them links.

We start a campaign tomorrow to bring our massive following to MSO and hope that it is a fantastic alternative to the other forums.

Listen, I was in a professional rock band for 10 years and toured the world. I love the underdogs and "sticking it" to the conformist. But sometimes you just have to do the right thing in order for things to evolve.

BTW.. Bad Brains, X, Minor Threat, Misfits Ramones, D.OA. , Agnostic Front, Germs are some of my favorites.

*ya I'm old.

Agree on both accounts. I never intended to, and really do not want any "MSO vs MSF" situation. That will not help either forum. To me, MSF is part of my past and I am proud of the things we accomplished pretty much on our own. But change was needed.

MSO promotes a positive and helpful environment and still help each other.

We will keep improving and listening to suggestions and ideas to improve our forum.

Have a great week, and KCCO!

This forum is getting nicer by the day. Raider and the team are doing an awesome job!

Maybe I missed it somewhere, but is Tokay on here? I miss his insightful criticism and wittiness.

Tokay has been vocal on Facebook that he has no interest in MSO, as well as me. I will not stop him from joining. However, the Terms and Conditions is where he may have issues. I know I cannot please every person, as well as every vendor. That's ok. But for any of the members who join and make MSO home, I will make every effort to ensure their experience is positive.

Tokay is very knowledgeable, and I've learned a lot from him. Having said this, he's been downright sociopathic in some of his antics/comments. I'd love to learn more from him, but I just don't know that his personality/behavior are compatible with the vision for this forum. I am the kind of guy that'll give people a few chances, though. My .02.

He was banned i think 3 times maybe on the old forum for his antics before permacanned. The "just being Tokay" pushed many off of the forum for his ways. That is not the positive vibe we need. If he did join and kept his own issues with people and vendors to himself, fine. We do not expect everyone to do trust falls and cuddle each other. Even if that happens on a local level. But it is truly nice to not have to deal with negative people like on the old forum. I was recently called "miserable" by him. Could not be further than the truth. I am having the best times of my life on many levels.

Who are you kidding, you are a miserable bastard, just like me. Embrace it.
