What gaskets for your build

are you guys using oem gaskets for your builds? I’m thinking about ordering the stage 3 oem Mazda kit from edge while it’s on sale this weekend. I ended up going with the Manley pistons and rods. Thoughts on this kit?

OEM gaskets are fine all the way around and proven to be good for almost any application. But Cometic MLS head gasket is good too. If your power goals are high, it is strongly recommended to go with L19 or 625+ head studs.

Not sure why that said lemons instead of oem gaskets. I probably going to shoot for 400-450 for now until I can change out the CST4. I will probably go for more so I’m putting the L19 studs in

Cometic MLX not MLS

MLS is fine. Studs are 1000% more important and to my knowledge I don’t think anyone has ever blown a MLS on this platform unless it was actually a stud or deck issue. I know gaskets are cheap, but I see little point in paying more for MLX unless you’re trying to set records.

This is what I used on my build and has been working well for a year plus now, 10k ish miles. I found it was the cheapest to go this route as I did not need OEM for some parts and was buying the Cometic head gasket so buying the kit with that plus other stuff I did not need was just more money.
