Is there a difference between the MS3 and CX7 Longblocks?

My longblock is a little long in the tooth but not needing any work right now (at 150K miles). I do expect it to need work in the next 50k miles though so I would rather start a slow build now so I am ready to just swap when my factory block pukes. I am not looking for a huge improvement in...

    Some NEWB E85 Questions

I replaced my PRV less than 10k miles ago with a new Mazda factory part. Just ran out and ran the test again. it went to 1835 before it popped off but it took F O R E V E R to get there. Like 20 mins. When I ran the test last time, I thought I remembered it taking less than 5 mins. I...

    Some NEWB E85 Questions

On second MAP iteration. HOLY CRAP!!! Ethanol! Where you been all my life?! My car runs much smoother (both at idle and cruising). My throttle response is better. The mid RPM power surge is AMAZING...which makes 3rd and 4th gear insane! WGDC is still around 65% at WOT and boost is slightly...

    Some NEWB E85 Questions

Oh my! Two years since I started "thinking" about this?! Pumped my first tank of E33 this morning (5 gallons E85, topped off with 91), flashed my first Freak E-tune version, and headed to work. I only have about 9 miles on it, but do notice my idle seems a little smoother. More to follow.

    Rang-a-stang's GenWon

Holy cats! I didn't mean to stir the pot! My vaccine statement wasn't meant to make a point other than it may impact my ability/timing to pay for a corn tune! I'm not too proud to admit that I am a knuckle head; I absolutely think the Cobb DP is a better designed, better built part than stock...

    Rang-a-stang's GenWon

Just finished my tune after the Downpipe install and fuel pump rebuild. I struggled getting my fuel pressure where it should be. Ultimately I needed to replace my pressure relief valve and had over-torqued the spill valve. I have a pretty good idea how the fuel system works on these guys now...

    MS3 Diff fluid?

I have a few easy questions for some of you that have worked on a few of these: 1) Our MS3 Trans is completely different than MS6 trans, right? I only ask because as I am searching for answers to my other questions, I am only finding info for MS6. It got me to wondering if the MS6 has the same...

    Should I replace my PRV?

YASSSS!!! Log looks good! Put about 50 miles on it over the last couple days; at WOT pressure maintains over 1650 the whole time!! So, I think, my PRV was bad and I over-torqued my spill valve. Pulled some logs and sent them to Justin/Freaktune so I can finish up a DP tube for 91 octane, then...

    Should I replace my PRV?

OK, so last night after the last post, I backed off the spill valve retaining nut about 1/8 of a turn. Today on my way to work my pressure seems better. I can’t say it is good yet, but it is better. I saw 1700 and 1800 psi register on my access port a few times. Hopefully on my way home from...

    Should I replace my PRV?

I did use the CS Kit. Both spill valves I have used have been cleaned IAW the fantastic instructions that came with the CS kit and this thread https://mazdaspeeds.org/index.php?threads/hpfp-o-ring-rebuild-and-spill-valve-michael-rey-facebook-kit.8069/ Wait..... looking at that thread... Looking...

    Should I replace my PRV?

Well this sucks. I ran the test and it failed at 1550 psi. So I ordered a new PRV from Japan (factory part), waited 3 weeks for it to get here, installed it, it passed the test this time cracking open at 1805psi (although it did take a long time to get there). Started my car and pressure dropped...

    Should I replace my PRV?

I did open up the spill valve and clean it. No change. I did try the PRV test where I run it, shut it down but leave the key on. I never got over 1600 psi on the test. I have 140k miles.

    Should I replace my PRV?

What if the spring on the HPFP has gone bad? Could that be possibly reducing the stroke of the HPFP and therefore the volume? I found a stock HPFP for $90 and am going to pick it up. If that does not cure my ails, I guess I will do a PRV and pressure sensor. Any thoughts?

    Should I replace my PRV?

Doing tuning for my down pipe and Tuner noticed my fuel rail pressures are low. I have been watching them for the last week and they are low and kind of all over the place. Idle is about 450-600. Cruising on the highway is about 1500. If am idling (about 450-600psi) and I blip the throttle...
