    Sho's 2007 ms3 build

It was a 4gal cell from Summit. Like $125 new.

    Port injection meth+6thport e30

I ran a really simple setup, worked great. A 4gal fuel cell in the hatch that operated on it's own, controlled by a 2 channel split second controller. I ran straight E85 in the fuel cell, ran through a filter, inline Walbro 255 and regulator, to 2x 2k cc injectors on a 6th port rail. Octane...

    Sho's 2007 ms3 build

Yeah he needs big boy intake pretty bad.

    Sho's 2007 ms3 build

It works, I did it on my car and a couple other 75mm TB cars with success, via Mazda Edit. Beyond me why Cobb never release the tables, but hey, they kept a ton unreleased, so it is what it is. The BOV thing is a moot point on this too. The issue is fuel cutting before you're even into vacuum...

    Cas' 800+ or Bust Build

You were running more E than Jake's stock block setup, that's the only reason for the slight lean out in AFR. When you start bumping the E up a lot, especially with the secondaries spraying so much, the car starts to become really inefficient at burning fuel if you keep using gas AFR targets.

    Cas' 800+ or Bust Build

I saw nearly 5mpg highway increase going from stock to 12.8. Also noticed a big difference in off-boost response, but again I was running a 6466, so I had more time than most off boost.

    Cas' 800+ or Bust Build

A ton of HP and getting there the most efficient way possible. Just a couple things on compression. It was said perfectly on the previous page. If you want to drive the car around and want more responsive, more enjoyable experience on the street with a large turbo, bump the compression. If you...

Cam Design (Or lack thereof) for the MZR DISI

Not a fan either, but likely for different reasons that you. I think the durations are overall "ok", but they lifts are designed to be used with stock or stock style pistons that do not have provisions for larger valve reliefs. I would just never go through the trouble of putting cams in a stock...

MY view on Head Studs for the MZR

Correct. Keying is more for insurance against assembly error. The OP?

    Aftermarket rods & stock pistons

Yeah if you're really looking at staying 500whp range and daily driving, then H-beams, 4032's, stock head/main bolts, no key needed if installed properly.

    Aftermarket rods & stock pistons

Stock pistons will take a ton of power on a good tune and enough cooling. Stock pistons will take even more power than that with a wider than stock ring gap, as almost ALL stock piston failures (on a solid tune) are of the ringland variety vs a cracked dome. 2618 with correct PWC and ring gap...

    Open Tuning/Turbo Theory Discussion

On the website it does actually say 750hp for the GEN2 3076, but I agree it doesn't add up at all. Idk I really don't trust that these turbos will make a ton of power and be responsive too, all the sudden. Same thing with the new 3584RS they're so hot about. I checked it all out and I think...

    Open Tuning/Turbo Theory Discussion

Alright here's a link to the portion of the thread that deals directly with the "below spring pressure" question, but if you have time, the whole thread is pretty interesting and amusing to read through...

    Cas' 800+ or Bust Build

Just because there's so many comments in the last day, I'll skip quoting everything and just respond to some of the big topics I saw. 1. Everyone's theoretical thoughts on the cons of High Comp are valid, however, running 450+whp on decent 93 octane alone was easy on the 12.5:1 pistons. Between...

Anyone looking for another solution, using some OTS parts, Mazworx makes a 1/2" Kit for the Nissan Pulsar GTi-R that works for our blocks.

MY view on Head Studs for the MZR

Sho drives the shit outa his car lol. I know because it gave me ulcers back when he was doing on this on a 120k+ miles stock block. Piston life and engine compression vary mostly due to machine work and assembly.

    Open Tuning/Turbo Theory Discussion

I gotta step in a little. A 35r is not a "Large" turbo. However, a 35r, especially an old school cast wheel 35r is not a "Good" turbo in today's standards. And Sho is right in the fact that his turbo from 2k would take close to 2k rpm to reach 20psi target, but from 3500, would take less than...

MY view on Head Studs for the MZR

Understood, and I do get the theoretical reasons you'd want to go with a 4032. The only thing I will say is I challenge anyone to show me a 2618 pistons, in a properly machined MZR that has any piston slap whatsoever... Along with that, you will easily get 50k+ miles at that power level on the...
