    Oil Leak - Built Motor

I'd love to clean it properly, I just don't have the work space to do that unfortunately.

    Oil Leak - Built Motor

Seems fine. Valve cover is definitely improved as well. There is a possibility the oil I've noticed is just warmed up oil still slowly making it's way off of my engine through pooling and collecting etc. But it seemed enough that I'd imagine I still have a leak.

    Oil Leak - Built Motor

Unfortunately I've still got some leaks I think, although it might have improved. Car has gone to storage for the winter now, so it's now a spring problem. I still haven't done the oil pan so I guess that's next, plus I might do a full PVC plate and gasket. See how that goes.

    Oil Leak - Built Motor

Replaced Valve cover gasket, dabbed RTV gasket maker on the fuel pump crank housing as recommended above. Cleaned up the engine a bit so I can spot new oil leaks. Drove it 30 km and so far dry as a bone. Fingers crossed though.

About to do this right now. Thanks for the advice on this one.

    Oil Leak - Built Motor

Update: Ended up replacing the oil cooler, however I can say the leak wasn't coming from there. So next I'm going to try the HPFP gasket, valve cover gasket, and oil pan gasket. Those should all be relatively easy jobs, but does anyone have any pointers for the valve cover and oil pan? I'm going...

    Oil Leak - Built Motor

I also have this, https://edgeautosport.com/prosport-oil-filter-adapter-plate-3-4unf-16-mazdaspeed-3-2007-2013-mazdaspeed-6-2006-2007-ford-focus-st-2013-2018-more-models/ Anyone know if there are fitment issues? As for the oil cooler, I found the one on edge, it's $392, but Rock Auto has one as...

    Oil Leak - Built Motor

From that list I think hpfp, oil cooler gasket and pcv plate seem most likely culprits. I've got a spin on conversion so I think I'm safe from some of those oil filter issues. I should definitely try the dye though. Sent from my SM-A530W using Tapatalk

that's somewhat reassuring, thanks. I suspected that to a certain extent but it's nice to hear from someone else. Sent from my SM-A530W using Tapatalk

The HPFP, that's a possibility actually. I have noticed some more around there, and if I'm not mistaken I didn't replace that O ring when I did the HPFP. @Awafrican was with me, he probably remembers better though. Maybe it's time to pull the HPFP and give it some love. Not sure when I'll have...

    Oil Leak - Built Motor

Only suggestion I've heard that is plausible, turbo return line could be leaking and I can't really check that. The leak seems to be more close to the front left however (over the transmission and I notice some on the front right too). Sent from my SM-A530W using Tapatalk

    Oil Leak - Built Motor

Hello all, Long time member, but I've been inactive for the last while. I came into the hobby not knowing anything, still don't know much. With the help of friends (@Awafrican) and this forum, I rescued (a shop rebuilt the engine) a 07 MS3 with blown o rings and a gouge in cylinder 3, and...

Very happy so far with the new Eonon. Seems very fast, very little load or lag time.

    Chemmedic builds a thing.

Time to resurrect this thread, if anyone is interested. So to re-cap, drove an old 07 into the ground and decided to do an engine build. Spent last summer tuning it/and breaking the engine in. No major track days or drag days. Here was the last datalog from last year before I parked the car...

Hi from Ottawa, Canada, eh! Looking for Purchase Advice

Hey Kevin! Welcome to the forums! Those all sound like good options, but if pressed on my opinion, a civic Si is gauche, the GTI is on the small side and impractical, and the WRX is feature poor but cost heavy. Plus with the mazda you get to hang out with the best community! I feel like it's a...

What did you do to your ride today

Oh shit, I didn't notice that, I was just pointing out how dirty it was, because as we all know once a rim gets dirty you have to buy a new one.

Looks like it's time for new rims/suspension earlier than expected.
