So in parallel to my 2.5L head swap thread I realized that there is another possible path for the guys that already have spent thousands on intakes cam and port work of the DISI head (which does have a way better port angle then the duratec 2.5L head).
This is simply to just remove the DI injectors, rails, HPFP and plug/cap the holes. The injectors cannot just be unplugged as the fuel is used to keep them from going nuclear as Stephen Papadakis found out on his DISI Supra build (amazing dyno video if you have not seen it!).
So I designed this in CAD and am 3d printing a test part now. It is not the path that I will go, but for the guys that have added 8th port injection this would allow them to go standalone like an AEM 506 without ditching all the high end parts they already have and get the benefits like WOT autotune, traction control, boost by gear, anti lag, way better logging and all that good stuff etc.
I currently think I have a standard press fit tolerance for the hole diameter but anyone want to check it over and correct it I will update the print.
