2011 speed 3 underboosting

I'd disagree, most folks I know of just run the test pipe, no resonator especially if you don't need to worry about passing visual inspection. Sounds just fine without a res, no different than running a long DP with highflow cat (still quieter than that with oem primary cat).

Even a full catless DP with stock cat back sounds good and isn't too loud imo
Kinda continuing the convo. At least for me I'm going to keep the resonator just because I don't have that much fun money after buying the rebuilt turbo  but if I'm being honest I really loved the sound coming straight out. It may have been unrefined but it had a great grumble and surprisingly wasn't that loud at idle. If I lived in a more rural area I'd probably make a little more noise... but my brother has a 2012 gti that he's about to put a catless downpipe on so it might inspire me

Keep the resonator? what resonator I thought you were putting in a test pipe In Where the second cat is.

Having it piped into the cat back will be a reasonable exhaust level

Isn't the link you sent just for the secondary cat? If it's not I already got it. Either way I don't mind losing the resonator (the thingy circled in red), i really liked the sound

That diagram is for a non speed exhaust

The part you are removing is the second cat and the part you bought is just a straight piece of pipe that bolts in in place

It still cracks me up comparing the exhausts on the mz3 vs ms3 that Mazda was like fuck this second cat we are going to make it easy as hell for you guys to remove this

Yes the link I sent for the test pipe is just for the secondary cat, street speed was talking about putting a resonator in it's place which I didn't even know people did until yesterday. A quick Google does so ultimate racing does make a resonated version.

And as EB said nothing to do with the part you circled in red, we don't have one of those

Yeah I am full catless and am looking at running a resonator but the reason isn't volume why people run them man it is from drone in the cab.

My car isn't terrible but it definitely gets old some days. I only have kept mine the same due to lots of compliments on the sound it has lol

Yer, also still waiting on the test pipe, but my hpfp internals are shipped/about to ship. Ultimate racing been backed up and my eta is near December 21-23.
Email guy is super polite and I'm just like, my car works and I don't want to put it on till hpfp internals are in. No rush, just want to schedule a time with the lift where my brother works.
Ever since I installed the new upper cat in the middle of winter I will try my best to avoid working on the ground . Hitting my hand while it was -5°C(23°F) was only a one time experience, never again :)))

Good news about halfway freezing to death while working on your car is that you usually don't feel nearly as much pain at the moment of impact lol

P.S. -- This post excludes all Canadians on here as they withstand abnormally cold weather on a daily basis)

Cold can actually increase the pain....also normal subjective and in Canada cold is normalaized to the region you live in. This can be applied around the world

So there are warm parts of Canada year round like we have in Florida or TX? Interesting
