302 Miata Time!

I never asked (and don't remember seeing - forgive me if you posted it): Are you going to use the stock Ford ECU, or a standalone? Whichever way, how are you going to adapt everything to the Mazda dash/instrument cluster/other hardware? Also, are you going to make it straight E85 compatible with all of the appropriate hardware/bigger injectors/etc.?

Using a stock A9L ford ECU with a Moates Quarterhorse tuner. I'm getting an adapter for the speedometer and using the stock Miata oil pressure and coolant temp sensors. I had to buy little adapters to use those two sensors for the Miata guages.
Not sure if I'm going to make it e85 compatible but I really want to. Need to do some more research on which injectors and fuel pump to use.

My .02: E85 usually doesn't make anywhere near of as a dramatic difference on N/A engines as it does in boosted applications, like our Speeds. It may be more trouble/$$$ than it's worth.

its only worth it if E85 is easily available that you can just always fill with it
There's a lot of E85 in our DFW Metroplex. Having said that, the northern/eastern regions of the area tend to be more saturated. The nearest station may be ~15 miles away or more, depending on your location:

Only reason why I'm considering is because I'm planning on going boosted, but in a few years.

Ah i was under the impression that you were still holding out hope there would be a less distructive solution for clearing the intake.

I kinda did want that "sleeper" look, but then I don't really care. It's going to be loud (no res, cats or mufflers), with dumps before the axles.

One of these things is not like the other... one of these things doesn't belong in these sentences. Clue: it's a word that starts with "sleep" and ends with "er," LOL ;)
