Before reading too far, does the AcessPort display certain codes with a sub category? My ap will show some codes by itself and other seem to look like a sub cat. Similar to this:
PCM
-> p2402
whereas with other codes, its just:
p0302
The PCM -> p2402 is a current thing as well and the cannisters are on back order if anyone else is the same boat.
Story time: Ever since my car left Freeway Mazda about 2 years ago, I've had what I thought was a ghost pcm code. There was 3 or 4 codes I thought were related to non stock parts being installed and after moving away from other oe parts and the codes just had to be tuned out (egr, vtcs, o2 as catless, yada). Fast forward to recently, its not often but I randomly receive the black pcm code during random scans with no CEL showing. Other times a CEL would trip and the PCM would show up by itself or one random code with it like a low voltage code, which was also a thing once.
Just remembered that every once in a while, my dash lights dim while my AP randomnly disconnects and says my car is shut off. Usually happens together. No sign of power loss from the motor though.
So, is my pcm hoopedy?
