how do you even find the cP besides random googling? I found it on BITOG for the mobil 1 euro 5w40 but there was no source so I'm blindly trusting some guy is right. It ain't listed on the exxon site

Castrol Synthetic Edge also supports this and is cheaper, VW guys with DI seem to love it.Template public:_media_site_embed_youtube not found. Try rebuilding or reinstalling the s9e/MediaSites add-on.
TLDR:
1. Dispersants are important as soot in the oil can eat up valve chains; look for API SP or ILSAC GF-6A test to verify good
2. Oil needs to get HOT in these engines; short trips will allow for fuel accumulation causing increased wear
3. LSPI happens at low RPMs with high cylinder pressures; look for same certifications as point 1.
4. One cause of LSPI is calcium based detergents
Royal Purple is certified for this:

It's also now dexos 1 gen 2, good to know RP is not cheap here perhaps it's time to test out the OEM recommend oil again since it meets all the things.Castrol Synthetic Edge also supports this and is cheaper, VW guys with DI seem to love it.

Yes that's probably correct and I appreciate you adding things to look for. It's probably only the mfg recommended oil because money changed hands.
The main point of the post was adding the certs to look for.
Get a UOA so we can see for sure and I'll add it to the list in the OP.
This is simply to do with the fact that the oil is thicker then it’s given rating. “5w30” sure. But their 30 might be castrols xw20.Just throwing it out there that I’m finally on the Royal Purple bandwagon and I have better oil pressure with RP than with anything else I have used. With the Castrol it was really low (sub 20 PSI) warm at idle. With RP I have not seen it dip under 20 PSI at all.
