Black Knobs

Trying out a coating (Salt Bath Nitriding) on a knob Im doing for a friend. Did a couple I had lying around in it as well. This is not something I plan to offer on a regular basis as its quite expenisve, so I would need a lot of interest and make them in quantity.

Its a nice satin looking finish. Its largely used on firearms, so I expect it to hold up quite well. Hard to get a great picture of it.

But that said, I have 1 sphere, and 2 dessert beagles up for sale here. Sphere will be $75 shipped, and the DB will be $85.

MSO gets first dibs, I will post on the FB probably next week if they dont sell here.

Have you considered using Duracoat or Cerakote? Since we're on the topic of firearm coatings that are strong.

Will this be even hotter in the summer than the standard?

I doubt it wlll be any hotter than a stainless knob, (which can get wicked hot). But a drink coozie over it was always my solution.

Really any coating is an issue since I do such small quantities. Most have $150 minimum or more. so for a knob or 2 thats just not feasible
cost wise

Check out WMD guns for coatings. They do small parts in nitride at reasonable prices. I already have my custom sphere knob from you. I thought about having it cerakoted at one point.

What's the weight on those? How's the heft? Is that sphere a worthy black ball?
