Broke the end of the exhaust camshaft while tightening crank bolt need help!!!!!

Hey guys so I messed up today while tightening the crank bolt I had the alignment tool still in the cams and while tightening the bolt it snapped a very small piece off the end of the exhaust cam where the plate lock in. I was wondering if anyone else has done this and wanted some opinions on if it would be worth the risk just running the engine with slight damage to the cam or if I should just replace the exhaust cam.

If it's aligned and you got the bolt tight, run it. Plenty of us running them like that, lol.

post a pic I'm curious to see what it looks like. I havent the foggiest but I'd trust phates judgement

Just run it. In the future that alignment plate needs to come out before you tighten everything up

OK, thanks for the input I was able to get the crank bolt all the way right after I removed the alignment tool and I had a feeling it would still be okay to run it.
