Problem: Intake won't clear the shifter cables and slide into the coupler on the turbo.

4" HTP Intake

Has anyone run into this problem? It looks like there is plenty of room once the intake slides in, but I can't get to that point because the rubber grommet that holds the shifter cables to the mount is getting in the way.

I have a 4" HTP intake and havent noticed this issues at all I can take a look tonight though.

I wonder if there'd be an issue with a 3.5" HTP. It'd still flow plenty for 500+whp. If push comes to shove, you could always gently massage some clearance into the piping there. Don't wanna mess up that nice PC'ing.

The problem is that I can't get the intake started into the coupler. It has nothing to do with the size of the intake. It's the distance from the end of the coupler to the shifter cables. If I were to move the bracket for the shifter cables and put my intake on, there would be enough room because the intake slides an inch or two into the coupler.

Ah, I couldn't tell by the pics. Can you trim down the coupler, perhaps? Maybe try mounting the coupler on the intake first, and try twisting the intake/coupler combo into place by starting with the intake pointing upwards and twisting it down and onto the turbo inlet? I'm not sure if you have any handy, but brake/parts cleaner is an excellent lubricant for working with couplers if things are really snug.

Not trimming anything. I'm going to try the coupler on the intake first. I'm not really at that point yet as I'm still working on the wire tuck.

Can you pull that grommet off put the intake in the coupler than put the grommet back? Not sure if you'll have the space with the intake on

No space to do that. I was able to get it on by putting the coupler on the intake first.

New problem now is that the HTP battery tray is hitting the intake.

Nothing connects to that tab, so I'm going to cut it off.

Glad the coupler-on-first idea worked out :)
