Building for the road course...again

Waiting to hear back from them as I added a few more parts to the list. Sooner I can lock in this pricing the better.

My car currently sits at the shop waiting for the dyno. I had a member on the k20a forum suggest I use a battery powered carbon monoxide detector to diagnose my head gasket issue. He was saying to put it in a bag. Seal the bag around my overflow or rad cap and see if it goes off at all. This could work

Will be picking up a pair for the fronts. Not sure if I’m more excited for the new engine or the new wheel setup…lol

Hahaha. The shit lost 14whp and 5wtq. It did push coolant. We did 2 pulls. First was 208whp and 151wtq.
second was 212whp and 154wtq.
It made 226whp and 159wtq in April.

Ah well. Time to pull the motor

It did well for what it was. Gave me a ton of fast laps for sure.

Time to get going on the new shit now.

Haha I wish it was overnight parts from Japan. That’s another hollywood part of that movie.

Guess they gotta send the cam dude up the mountain to fire up the foundry and bang out some big cams. Who knows. Apparently they pride themselves on doing everything in house.

Let’s hope this motor makes at least 245. Things gonna feel like a rocket

What up yall.

things kinda escalated quickly here…started around 1pm…
Engines entirely free. Hanging by driver and pass mounts. Everything else is out.
Axles weren’t as bad as I thought haha

Now honestly the hardest part…finding a friend and an engine hoist. Fuck me.

Looks like that piece broke off. Flew around everywhere then made its way out my clutch fork opening!!!

Seems to be purely cosmetic damage. I will reuse everything.

Clutch/pressure plate seems to be in great shape still. 2 seasons on it, approximately 30 trips to the track and maybe 10,000 street kms.

Are you sure you want to reuse the flywheel?

If it chipped in the first place then it could be a defective ring gear in terms of metal casting. Or would there be some kind of burr on the starter gear that caused it to break?
