Hey y'all. I've got a 2014 Fusion 2.5L I'm trying to get some cheap thrills out of. Going to be a strictly street car so keeping bottom end stock (until possibly if/when engine needs to be rebuilt I might upgrade to flat top pistons) and almost strictly bolt ons, so that would mean I'm looking at Crower's 62551 cams with the MSS VCT delete. My question is: would I see any worthwhile gain from this spring setup on my stage 1 cams? I realize crower says I don't need to upgrade springs, but is there anything to gain if I do?
Engine mods for reference:
K&N intake tube (including valve cover relief) with AirAid 721-432 synthamax filter.
Throttle Body machined by Maxbore (bored out to 64mm, machined shaft with "flush" butterfly hardware)
MSS MAEN'8327.7 UD waterpump pulley (Designed for D20/D23 ford focus...but fits D25 water pump just the same)
93 Octane Tune by Livernois Motor Sports.
Also planning on modifying stock manicat by cutting off just before the downstream O2 and grafting on a 2006 Mazda 6 manifold (also adding upstream O2 bung to manifold and a j pipe to the downstream O2).
