Chemmedic builds a thing.

Any thoughts on who I should tune with?

Engine removal 11.jpg Sup guys! Some of you may have disdainfully noticed my thread on that site which shall not be named, but I thought I would start a build thread on this site as well so as to gain access to your extensive knowledge.

Long story short, I bought a beat up 07 speed 3 as my first car (never needed one before), and fell in love with car modification. This past summer I blew my engine, likely after oil starvation, from a combination of a leaky turbo and a healthy does of 'I am stupid'.

Despite living in temporary housing 400 miles from home and my usual support network, I set out to remove my engine with the help of a local car shop, borrowed a truck and towed the car home after dropping the engine off at a machine shop.

This is my first major car project, hell, it's the first time I've even looked inside of an engine. It's been an amazing experience so far, and I am looking forward to finally starting it up again. The critical rebuilding phase is going to start soon, expect to see updates in the next month or so.

Awesome! I plan on rebuilding my engine eventually, so I hope to see updates as to how this goes!

Hope everything goes well with the build! Good luck! Those pistons and rods combo should be good for a nice build

Chemmedic; you forgot to list the sexy turbo! No longer using eBay dp going cnt catless. Clutch pictured is sotuh bend stage 3 endurance. Also update engine is ready, just waiting on a bay at the auto club so we (chemmedic) has full access to a hoist and all the tools your heart desires. One guy is building his subie currently and should be out within 2 weeks and then the wrenching starts!

That is tempting, yet intimidating. I didn't feel bad about handing the engine off for machining, and I feel the same way about tuning. I get what you mean though, I have all the tools I need to do it myself.

It's not as difficult as people think, there's just a lot to know.

You should have embedded these rather than just having pinkynails from the upload.

Now you just need to get rid of that stock exhaust mani and you'll be good to go.

Been busy.....
