Clutch toast or can it be cleaned

I finally got the motor out and was able to take a few pics of the slipping clutch.. cleanable, or should I just purchase the rebuild kit.. clutchmasters 850 race series. I am going to replace the rear main seal/transmission input shaft seal while it's out, probably the throwout bearing as well

They're pretty burnt through on everything.. i thought about that (and might repair/sell it, dunno).. but I just bought the Xclutch twin disc solid organic clutch last night, along with a new master and slave cylinder, rear main seal, pivot shaft seal, and pcv valve... fookit, all new things.

So, i think the slave cylinder blew it's seal and was dripping brake fluid onto the clutch, and it burnt the crap out of it.. i can see the debris all over the bellhousing. This weekend, i'm going to clean up the trans/motor, pull the intake manifold to get to the pcv, check out to see if I need to order anything else that's easy to get to with the motor out.

I’d recommend upgrading to an is300 slave. There’s upgrade kits available pre-packaged. A lot of people have problems blowing out the stock slave on twin discs, I did as well.

I was reading about that, but it doesn't work on the speed 6.. i'd have to get a supra kit and drill out a few holes to get it to match up (kinda like i did for the evo 8 brakes), and a custom 3an line

You sure about that? I’m running it on my ms3 (w/ a speed 6 trans). Mounts up just fine, unless you’re talking about a discrepancy at the line end and not mounting on the trans.

I can DM you the link to the kit I have.

Yes please, i was checking into the sleepy customs one, but doesn't fit w/ the speed6 trans w/out modifying their custom bracket

How was the transmission fluid level? The pattern coming from the inside splines on the disc suggest a possible input shaft seal leak or to much lube used during install.

I didn't measure the tranny fluid coming out, but i had just drained/refilled it about 3 months previously. I'm definitely replacing the input shaft seal, there's grease everywhere on the bellhousing and release bearing, so that might have blown. It's very possible "we" used too much lube during the install as well, won't do that this time
