Thanks for the reply guy, yes I locked the crank and cams before tighten everything the hole in pully lines up with thread in timing cover hust not the correct tooth is on the 9th tooth
Is this car a mazda 6 or a mazdaspeed 6? It appears your teeth are much larger than the ones on a mazdaspeed 6 crank pulley after looking at pictures from mine.
Congrats on your purchase of a Mazdaspeed crank pulley (apparent part number L328 11 400 A; tooth count is 58-2 if memory serves) that's been customized with a Duratec 2.0 tone wheel (36-1 from the looks of it).

So this is the correct pulley sizing but the timing tooth section that is pressed on is wrong? Nice... Looks like someone sold someone the wrong pulley here unfortunately... If a car hasn't been driven or started then a guy could theoretically take that pulley off and just retorque the new one on right??
The most logical explanation is that the stock tone wheel broke off (which does happen from time to time) and whoever refurbed that item just threw that one on because it fit (which it would, because shared platform).
