Dammond intake manifold

Dammond has a short on YouTube announcing an upcoming intake manifold! It looks similar to the JMF. It has the connections on the bottom instead of the front side, for a cleaner look. Also, it looks like you won't have to relocate the gizmo, I forget what it's called, that you have to relocate off the fuel rail with the JMF. Still, it looks similar enough to the JMF that my initial guess is that it will perform similar.

That is one nice looking manifold. I like the option for throttle body positioning. That should appeal to a lot of different folks.

You can probably fudge it with stubbies, washers and a CS intake mani and TMIC...But you'll be flow limited on that TMIC to probably somewhere at or under 400.

FYI, Corksport's intake manifold supports port injection with a TMIC. (EDIT: CS’s product page says that it does NOT support PI with a TMIC. But some reports say it is possible.)

I was curious as to comparative reviews of the CS, JMF, and eventually the DM. CPE actually made a cast intake manifold, but it's discontinued. I had wondered how it compared but I guess point is moot.

Though it does look like an upgrade over the JMF, still, it doesn't look to be a huge upgrade. I'm a bit surprised DM decided it was worth making a competitor. That said, I do like that the connections are on the bottom, and you won't have to relocate the fuel thingy, and the optional throttle body locations.

I looked it up on the thread linked by Cold Lotion. It said the JMF single runner was a bit better than stock as far as balance. While the split runner was worse than stock. I didn't even know that JMF made single vs split.

As far as the upcoming Damond, well, I'm not an engineer, but just looking at it, it would sure seem like the middle two runners would get a lot more flow. But I would think Damond would have considered flow balance. Especially since they were the ones to bring the modified Ford manifold to the platform. I wouldn't think Damond would bother to make something new that's not as good as the Ford. Of course it will have more max flow than the Ford. But I'll be interested in the flow data for the Damond.

I see that the other thread never got a CS or CPE tested. I guess not worth testing the CPE since it's discontinued but it would have been interesting to see the results. But since CS is still on the market, and they at least CLAIM balanced flow, it would be great to see it tested. Especially since some people are interested in an upgraded manifold for TMIC applications.
 
Is important to note that flow under pressure vs under vacuum is going to behave very differently. Flow bench data is nice to have but I wouldn't use it to shit on one manifold over another.
 
I take data where I can get it, and the variance is what I was looking for over flow (arguably more important).

I'd never use a JMF anyways, cause there's no provisions for TMIC.
 
My point is that the flow balance will be completely different under pressure. Frankly with a big enough plenum there should be very minimal variation
 
What do you mean single injector? That would feed only one port, and near all of that fuel would go to that specific cylinder.

I believe it's called a fifth rail or something like that, where the injector goes on either just before or just after the throttle body. I could be wrong, but I thought that is done sometimes.
