davychronic's build

You'll note that the throttle is also more responsive with the larger tb (since a smaller throttle input will yield more area open) and that actually helped me go from a stop to moving in 1st gear a bit. It helped it rev quicker and I could grab the clutch a little more naturally/easily as a result.
even on stock im (for now), the first thing i noticed after install last night was improved pedal response. feels a lot less sluggish from a stop without having to mash the throttle.

no problems with drivability on the morning commute today; a little harsher when simply letting off the gas (no clutch) at low speed/low rpm in 1st/2nd but if i clutch in instead of just pulling off the throttle, it feels the same as it always has.

So things like rev matching are improved as well i assume. I may need to back down on my dbw tables then. I played with them a lot to get rev matching more responsive. Sucks having to really stab the pedal diving into turns.

Correct, it's a lot easier to rev match just since it'll rev a little more with less input. I liked it a lot as is honestly. On my GT35 I never had Will revise the tune and then I was just tuned with it on when I got my 6062.

Wow this is quite a bit more than i expected, i guess ill be contacting speed solutions to see if they are selling adapters. @AYOUSTIN

Wow, that's garbage. I would try seeing if there's any local machine shops that are willing to take the job. I'd offer to do it but I don't have access to any mills large enough. Writing the toolpathing for it shouldn't take too long so most of the cost is just machine run time which if they have a decent mill, isn't much time at all.

Actually, I might be able to make it on the mill I've been using at school. I need to take some measurements the next time I'm by it. My biggest concern would be the Z travel. 1" is definitely towards the upper end of what it can cut.

Yea i thought it was quite high. 1” isnt a requirement, it could be .25” and be fine. I just thought a little plenum volume in this fost manifold would help a little down low.

Well I can definitely do .5". Miiight be able to swing .75", but yea I don't think I've got an endmill long enough for 1". I'll double check though. Shoot me a PM so I don't forget, I'll look up how much the stock will cost, I can definitely do it for less than $300 lol.

So ive been talking with speed solutions and this is what they have (obviously the 3d printed model).

Its 1/2” thick, tapers down and only $35 so i think that may be the route to go @AYOUSTIN

They said they will be showing up any day now from the machine shop and ready to go.

Yea he must be, i even convinced him to supply new bolts (something he hadnt thought of) with the kit so price might go up a hair but not much.

Nice. Yea the stock alone would probably cost me $25ish for one piece haha. Glad to see there's already a good solution.

Yea he said they are arriving this week but now he has to order bolts so hopefully next week. Unfortuately they will only be offered in raw billet finish, the thing i liked about emachineshop is that i could get it anodized black.

I wonder since you can clearly model better than me. Id like to make better brackets for my wilwoods. The fastbrakes kit was garbage and they sent me the wrong calipers anyway. I have my calipers mounted safely but they arent mounted in a way that id prefer. I can get pics later tonight to show you what i mean.

I'd imagine there's a shop around you that does anodizing, it's not terribly expensive especially if you're just getting something like black done.

Throw me some pics, dimensions and what you're thinking and I'll see what I can do.

I literally just want the same bracket i have just thicker where the bolt holes are. If i could figure out how to take a 3d picture of it, Id just extrude the side with the bolt holes, to the thickness i need.

Sounds pretty simple. I replicated CS caliper brackets (the ones they don't make anymore because they hate the MS6) last year so it shouldn't be too hard.

If you guys need something one off, Im busy as shit, but I can try and fit stuff in. Im not looking at going to any sort of production, but Im always down to try and help for 1 off parts.

Thats good to know, word on the grapevine is you really know your shit.

On a side note look what showed up this morning!

I know the usps is failing but they are by far the best at what they do. If it came fedex itd be here sometime in mid feb and ups would have at least taken a week. This was supposed to get here tomorrow so hats off to usps.

Alright my fittings showed up and i can finally get this wrapped up. Fuggin stupid how rare a 9/16 drill bit is, i had to by a $70 set of step drill bits to get the right hole for these bulkhead fittings.

Hopefully i can get this all finished today. I was at the welding supply store yesterday to swap out my 100% argon bottle and they convinced me to try the purple e3 tungsten, that it is better than the the green pure ive been using. So i want to give that a try to play around with so i can finish welding up my hotpipe. Speed solutions is making a cold pipe for me to save me a little time. They also suggested that running dual pumps in tank is a bad idea suggesting that they will starve in the stock basket. Im somewhat doubting that on my particular setup since my return feeds the basket and i will have far more fuel supply than ill be using so even under high load the return should still be supplying a healthy amount of fuel. If that ever does become an issue though than i plan to throw my stock pump in the passenger side hat and have it feed the driver side basket under high load. Problem solved.

Unless you plan to road race the car you won't have fuel starvation issues.

Tophat setup looks good.

Eventually that is the plan ?? but i dont plan to road race with more than 500 or so hp since our tc is garbage. I seen what damond did to theirs on a stock turbo granted that was from a ton of launches.
