I am finally here now that Eric made the site functional on Gov comps.

FIRST TURBO MIATA BUILD THREAD ON MSO!!!!

Been working on this for a while now, it isnt being built for anything specific, just a fun, fast, turbo Miata!

I am shaving/ tucking the engine bay and painting the bay metallic silver, Ford T8 paint code. Also converted over to NA6 (89-93 Miata) Dashboard, will accommodate Racepak IQ3 cluster for all information, so no need for external gauges.

What year is this car? Why not use the 1994 dash it has live gauges and works with 1.8L, or just change the sending unit for oil. I only ask as I'm curious and would like to know more. Furthermore, I'm a MS6 owner and loved your car and current working on a Ghey car build myself.

The car is a 95', the dash itself is from an NA6 so its without airbag, I don't really car to incorporate the OEM cluster, mainly because the Racepak can do all of that and more, and is completely programmable. Good luck with the ghaiz!

In regards to the 6, when I got out of the Army in Dec of 2014, the first job I took paid significantly less than what I was making in the Army, and keeping the 6 was becoming a pain in the ass both mechanically and financially, so it ended up being the sort of thing I just needed to part ways with. So I ended up parting everything out, sold the long block, turbo kit, and intercooler kit to Flo (which him and Rokusek finally got running) and offed a bunch of other random parts to other folks, then sold the shell as a roller for pennies. Now that I have a well paying career I can do racecar things again with my friens!

For me it simplifies everything with the project in regards to the interior, rather than running a shit ton of gauges, and trying to figure out a logical place to put them in the Miata given how crammed it already is in there, an all in one sort of dash was ideal for me. I don't need external boost, afr, oil pressure, fuel pressure, or whatever other gauges, I can program ALL of those and more into the display on the IQ3. Sweet! The EFR7163 is my dream turbo. I know PTE gets a lot of love nowadays, but EFR is next-level; there's a good reason they're on F1 cars, LOL.

Just curious why you didn't go for the 6758? Wouldn't that flow enough for your displacement?
 
Its the same Hawaii Blue that I used for the VC on the MS6, I loved it so much I figured id use it again lol. And honestly it looks even better on here than it did on the MS6
