I was able to pull the pan and inspect a little bit. Plenty of metal shavings on the drain plug and a lot of bits of metal in the pan. I guess that's expected though. I went ahead and wiggled the rods and found all of them tight except cylinder 2. It has quite a bit of play. All the rod caps are also scorched and indicates oil starvation I'm pretty sure. It just boggles my mind when it may have occurred.
Mr. Keefover happened to be in San Diego and paid me a visit. He confirmed we'll need to replace the crank, bearings, and possibly 1 rod. Hopefully, the head is still usable. We won't know until I pull the engine and we break it down together.
