Fire Extinguisher and Mounting

So my car isn't a full on racecar (yet) But I do take it to the track, and during which I like to have a fire extinguisher. The giant methanol tank in the trunk makes me a bit paranoid so I prefer to just be on the safe side.

Issue Im having right now is its just shoved under the passenger seat. And while is really hasn't moved from there, its not exactly accessible, and technically its not really secure, so I would really fail an inspection if there actually was one.

Ive looked at a few options. The standard screw mount is nice and cheap, I would just have to figure out how and where to attach it. But I also found this one, its a bit more expensive but the location is nice and accessible, and mounting seems easy.

Just wondered if anyone else has one in their car and how they mount it if they do.

Exactly, I dont want it to be something I have to dig for. And I like the idea that if I crash, and the car is on fire and Im incapacitated, someone else might be able to see it/get at it.
 
back in my VW bug (air-cooled) I had one first bolted to the kick panel. Not possible on MS3. Then after scraping my leg on the strap 300 times, I mounted it in front ofd the shifter. Also not possible on the MS3. A-Pilar is out-airbags. Really, the seat is the most viable option short of an engine fire suppression system. Blaze Cut caught my eye.

My Audi had an electrical fire back in the day. I had it mounted on the side in the front passenger area with a quick release. Saved my car but holy shit what a mess to clean up.
 
A local has his mounted with a mount similar to what is posted above. His is in front of his passenger seat. I like it...he can grab it quickly, it's not underneath the driver's seat to interfere at all, and when riding in the passenger seat it is not in the way at all. I will take some pictures when I am over wrenching on his car this weekend if he's not opposed to me posting them here.

I think I will be putting one in a similar location in my track-only car, but I won't a passenger seat most of the time so it should be even easier to grab if needed.
 
I actually just got a car fire extinguisher earlier this month for my birthday. For now it's just going to stay upright in my trunk organizer. I have this one:

and it's basically full so staying upright is not a problem. Clearly not a racing solution though.

I would probably prefer to have it mounted in the pass compartment, and that bracket you posted (Ken) looks awesome for it. The only other place I'd think to mount it might be to the back of the armrest where it's out of the way of day-to-day use but still fairly accessible. I'll have to check if I have vents or whatever there as I don't even remember.

EDIT: One item removed since it doesn't go anywhere. It was another billet kind of like the one below, but a one-spot not a two-spot holder, IIRC.

Those last two crazy pricey, and I don't guess we have the small diameter tube they need to mount onto, but definitely look cool.

Since My car caught on fire once already I have been looking into this for some time now.
I constantly second guess every smell I hit while driving... Is that me? I need some piece of mind.

Yeah, car fires suck for sure. And with a trunk full of 100% methanol, I worry.

Not just you ... it is very real.

I've put out 4 ... (yes FOUR!) car fires in my life ... plus my brothers show car burnt to the ground, plus I've watched another car destroyed by fire, plus I have a friend who was critically injured in a car fire.

That's how/why The Bracketeer got started. I made a bracket for my own car for my own peace of mind, shared the design on a forum and had people ask me to make one for them. That prompted me to invent a universal one.

I have two fire extinguishers in my 900hp blown show camaro.

Blocks access to your Viagra. Make sure you move it to the center console like me.
 
So I have a fire extinguish under my the back side on the passenger seat unmounted and I have looking for the best approach to securing it at an easy access location. I did some googling and saw Tom (many might know him or know of him) create a bracket and mount it on the front side of the speed 6 passenger seat. I was looking to do that but if this bracketeer product works for our platform, I will definitely purchase.
