Yea thats probably just to buy some time, maybe they will make a come back. Hard to compete with the internet in that market. Same thing with shopping malls, a lot of malls where i grew up are dying out.

Maybe that's the new branding that distinguishes it. All I know is my set is USA-made, and is not "Craftsman Professional." Must be something they implemented since I bought the set, a few years back. Good to know, for the future.

If you're going to BSD, definitely do the oil pan baffle, especially if you're going to do performance driving.

Thats just a cooling fan switch, iirc you can change the cooling fan on and off temps in versatune

Then i wouldnt worry about changing you cooling fan on/off times unless your tuner suggests it.

Are you sure, Davy? I really don't know what kind of thermostat it is. But if we could get a oil temp thermostat to use with JBR's new oil cooler, that'd be awesome...

Thats just a fan switch I am sure, it clealy states the on and off temp on the package. you can get an oil thermostat, mishimoto along with a host of othe companies make them. Search on google or amazon, they can be in line or built into the oil filter adapter. But an oil cooler thermostat is adding an additional point of failure so do your reasearch.
True, but just like I wouldn't want a radiator running continuously, I especially wouldn't want an oil cooler running continuously, particularly on a turbo car in cold climate racing, you know? I'm totally okay with a coolant thermostat being a point of failure; same with an oil cooler thermostat. Benefits >>>>> cons. My .02

Ehh comparing the thermal properties of oil and coolant isnt really a good example and generally an oil cooler isnt nearly as big. Jaime is in Illinois and we get pretty cold winters compared to Texas and if he doesnt suggest a thermostat then i would assume after all the teasting he has done probably means it isnt necessary. The factory oil cooler isnt run on a thermostat, so once your oil is warm, you arent going to cool it by much by adding an air to air cooler. I only added an oil cooler to my car because my turbo is no longer water cooled otherwise i wouldnt add one unless it was strictly a track car. The factory cooler does a good job especially on ms3 where you dont have the added heat from the pto.
Wait a sec, are you saying Genpu's have factory oil coolers? *head sratchin'*
I'm thinking about track prep. An upgraded radiator is in my future, too, so that's where I'm coming from. And it can get HOOOOOT down here. Even more so when you're ten-tenths driving around a track regarding the coolant and oil.

No this part on top of the oil filter housing that has coolat lines going in and out of it is the oil cooler...

Just about every turbo car since the late 80s has some type of oil cooler. The genpu actually has an updated version of the one i have.

I have a oil temperate and pressure sensor contacted my my oil set up (sammich plate). It's been doing be great justice for some time now. It's cool to how to oil temperate sky rockets after a wot log or so then to Coolant temp goes up a little to cool it down.
