Gen 2 cracked clutch pedal

What's up guys, so the last few nights I have been having a hard time starting my car. I really have to press the clutch pedal to get it to engage the safety switch. Then this morning I get no start at all no matter how hard I press. After some inspection looks like the bracket that holds the safety switch to the clutch assembly is starting to shear (see pics). This is allowing the bracket to flex and not fully be depressed by the clutch pedal. I have a Southbend stage 3 endurance for 50k+ and the car/clutch drive fine other than starting the car.

For now I am able to start the car by reaching under the dash and pressing the switch with my hands. I've seen all the threads of cracking pedals happening to the speed 6s but closer to the firewall and never a gen 2. Anyone have any tips or experienced this themselves.

Thanks

Makes me worry about my Gen 1, since I am running the SBS3E clutch as well. I am at only 3k miles on my clutch.

Yea I’ve unfortunately seen it on 2 other gen pu, welding it won’t hold, the whole assembly has to be replaced. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I would weld that up.

Welding it is only a temp solution, it’ll hold for a bit but eventually it does break down.

Thanks for the heads up. Looks like I need to find an assembly and how to change it out.

Out of paranoia I decided to check mine. No cracks, but pushing the pedal down you can see the whole assembly wobble. It is definitely flimsy as hell. I wonder if someone can make a reinforcement bracket or replacement?

Checked out my neighbors gen 2 pedal and it isn't cracked but moves quite a bit as well. I'll gladly be a tester for a reinforced unit [emoji41]

Any idea what part number they used? The number I find is 41-030 which is the pedal assembly but there are still a few different options to choose from and I can't seem to narrow it down. I'm leaning towards BBM241300C though.

I’ll check with them and see if they remember, might be worth calling a dealer and getting the part number.

Just got the assembly from edge, BBN5-41-300A is the part number which also included a clutch master cylinder, which I had also ordered, so I have 2 clutch master cylinders and need to return one. Anyways hopefully I can tackle this within the next week or so.

I cracked the clutch pedal on my 1st gen, replaced with a second gen pedal I found used on Ebay. The 2nd gen has an extra tab/attachment that the 1st gen doesn't have. I simple cut off the extra tab, worked great. The install is a royal PITA and I would hate to have to do it again.
