Has anyone used or know if this part number for Mazdaspeed exhaust would work on a MS6

GRMS-8M-H09 : part is out of the Mazdaspeed catalog under the MS6 section. However it says it’s for the Mazda 6 v6. Didn’t know if it was just a print error or if the MS6 and the Mazda 6 V6 shared the same exhaust layout.

there is also this part that is an axle back kit for the v6 GRMS-8M-H08. Wondering if those would just bolt up to the y pipe in the back, or if the V6 had a slightly different design or mounting points.

would love to find those mufflers and use them in a custom design if I could

I don't think the exhausts were exactly the same but I would bet they are the same layout. As far as bolting up i wouldn't count on the pipe sizes being the same.

For the cost of the stock muffler why wouldn't you just go full custom? Would be much cheaper

Honestly just seeing what is left on market

Trying to gauge options, it’s looking more like I need a custom shop to help dial what I want in. Quite but not stock quite (more like what an OEM sport exhaust would sound like, the Germans do a good job in that department)

and still enough flow nothing more than 3”

I mean, it's gotta have something which would make it not work. IMG_8831.jpeg

couldn't find anyone who swapped an ms6 exhaust onto a 6, which was common with the ms3 to 3, so I assume it doesn't match close enough.

you can max out the stock fueling on 2.5" in my experience, so custom would probably suit you best. every "bolt on" mazda catback i've heard is obnoxious for a daily. i think most of your german exhausts are using electronic mapping to control valves in the exhaust system to give more dynamic range in the exhaust noise, but you can also find boost activated cutouts if you need a party mode.

absolutely, this will interfere with the driveshaft
