Having Trouble Shifting OUT of gears

Hey folks. Kind of perplexed at an issue I'm having. Trying to narrow down what it might be.

Noticed this sort of happening gradually, but today seems to be the biggest problem day I've had. Having trouble getting the shifter out of gears intermittently.

Clutch fully depressed, at times, the shifter will refuse to travel into neutral. This happens typically when I'm trying to downshift say from 5th to 4th or even upshift from 3rd to 4th. It only seems to happen when I'm trying to leave whatever gear the car is in. It does not happen when going from neutral into a gear.

What's confusing is, if the shifter resists going through neutral and I let it go slightly, I can pull it into neutral on the second try. No change in the clutch pedal.

This makes me think it's a shifter linkage issue but I can't seem to find anything wrong. Possibly a failing master or slave? I'm not convinced it's a clutch issue but maybe you guys have insight I don't.

current fluid has about 35k miles on it. genjuan

You can adjust your shift cables to compensate for any stretching or what-not that has occurred:
