Hey team,
I'm a new Mazdaspeed 3 owner from New Zealand. My car is a JDM import so is a Mazdaspeed Axela (the JDM name of a Mazda 3). I joined up to get some info on the different things I need done with my car. I've already found some awesome information here, so I'm glad to be a part of the community. I'm a diesel mechanic apprentice so have a bit of mechanical knowledge but I know there are some BIG differences between diesel and petrol.
My 2007 Mazdaspeed 3, which I was given, was a barn find. It's been sitting for a couple of years out in the weather and needs a bit of love. But despite that, it's actually pretty tidy, especially on the inside. Aside from a few cosmetic things, it's completely stock, too, which means endless possibilities.
Things I know I need to get done are:
- Timing chain (rattling)
- Full service
- New tyres all around
- Needs a new key
- and needs to get re-registered to get back on the road.
From there, I want to get some easy bolt-ons to start. I want to keep it as a street car and a nice car to cruise on. I'm not planning on chasing numbers on a dino... for now...
Looking forward to learning heaps from the community and maybe even making some new friends.
