Help with reviewing my datalogs?

Hey everyone,

I installed an upgraded TMIC (old Street Unit) and 3" test pipe with one step colder plugs as per my tuners recommendation this past weekend.

I've taken a couple WOT datalogs, both ways down the same stretch of a relatively flat road. I am getting a bit of knock retard <1.0 KR on these runs, but on Sunday night I had up to just under 2.0.

I am tuned by Stratified for 91 octane gas and was running Shell fuel. I don't think the logs are terrible, but wouldn't mind your experienced feedback. To be honest, I was kind of hoping for a better improvement, but I know that a test pipe and TMIC don't do a ton on the K04 (the TMIC is in preparation for a BNR S3...hopefully next spring). I didn't see much improvement over just the intake that I installed in October 2018; with that said, my datalogs from then were at 7 degrees Celsius ambient, and these most recent logs with the test pipe and TMIC added were taken at 15 degrees Celsius ambient.

I am working with Stratified to dial in my MAF calibration, so hopefully I get an update later this week before I flash my e30 tune.

Your logs look fine. That bit of kr is nothing to sweat over. If it goes over 2 at Wot consistently then it's something to look into. The log looks fine. Don't sweat over v dyno numbers.

Do you have lots from before the test pipe and tmic we can look at? How many miles on your car?
 
I took one log when I installed my intake...the power curve looks almost identical, except boost was about 2 psi lower throughout. However, the intake air temps were about 21 degrees Farenheit lower than these latest logs.

So maybe I gained about 5-10 hP with these mods...not sure if that sounds reasonable.

When I have access to my computer I'll post my previous logs.

My car has 122,500 miles; I've owned it since 13,985 miles. My recent compression test was good at ~165 psi across all cylinders. Leakdown two years ago was <5%. With that said, my car does use about 1/2 to 1 full quart of oil per 3500 mile OCI.

Just got an email from Stratified stating my MAF calibration is spot on, so no adjustments necessary. :)
 
Yeah the test pipe should allow you hold a little more boost at the same wgdc so that makes sense the boost curve is higher across the board now. 5-10 whp is exactly what I'd expect from a test pipe. Your wgdc is maxed and looks like the right timing for 91 gas, maybe a little conservative.

For V dyno to ba useful comparison tool you gotta save all the temp data (like baro/temp/etc) make sure tire pressure is right on, use the same road, make sure no headwind or tailwind, same amount of stuff in the car, and sae correct it. Then you can kinda see if there is any difference. There are so many variables to v dyno its going to be hard to see small hp changes. 5-10 whp in the context of ~230 is what? Like <5%? Hard to see.

You're making more boost so you should be making more power :)
 
Those are great points. I haven't corrected the curves; didnt know I could do that. So I'd just have to look up historical weather data for the barometric pressure and use the intake air temps for ambient (I know that's not the best way, but hey, you know...science!).

My car weight should be consistent except for my own spare tire (it's almost a full size spare now :D)

At this point, I know I have to pay to play to get more out of the motor: bigger turbo, DP, and the other supporting mods for the turbo. However, I may be completely content with the K04 on e30...we shall see. However, having just spent the last weekend with my car, I had a lot of fun wrenching.
