Hesitation and Stutter

For the past couple weeks now, my car seems the have this hesitation/stutter issue. Whenever I accelerate the car kind of bogs then kicks into boost and this is not WOT. It pretty much does it in every gear and I'm not sure what the problem is. I am currently tuned by dizzy tune and had no issues up until recently. I've changed my spark plugs twice with 6510s and 6509, but still have the same problem. I just recently installed copper rods into my coils to try and see if that help and NOPE! Anyone would like to chime in? Please and thank you.

going through a similar condition at the moment. do you have a check engine light on? any codes to report? i have the 2187. lean at idle. bogs down in every gear under 3k.

I grabbed a few logs. For whatever reason my car was not stuttering during these logs. But usually day to day driving it does. @Raider

yes i did have a check engine light saying i was running too lean. So, i changed my plugs again and did the copper coil install. No engine code yet but the stuttering continues from time to time which is weird.

I have a issue similar but from running rich, but I am swapping my fuel pressure relieve valve tomorrow, hoping that fixes my issue.

There is a local that moved in a few houses down from me and he is installing a few parts on his car tomorrow as well, hahaha. Two house and two little install meets, lol.

Is your hesitation while accelerating happening at a similar rpm everytime?

For a while I had a similar problem, from 2500-3300, it would bog, and then all of sudden hit boost. But I had a P0016, which turned out to be an improperly timed intake cam.

The symptoms sound similar, but the CEL's don't line up.

Haha! that's pretty cool.

haha if you guys need some help. I could always lend a hand if needed.

Finally got around to messing with my car and I think I found the issue. I went to do an oil change and started looking at my hpfp. Wow! The19mm nut you need to remove to release the pump was full of crud/gunk. I removed the pump and cleaned up everyone as much as possible. Soaked my internals in some redline s1 and reinstalled. No hesitation as of now, but we will see in the future. Does anyone know what could cause this? I've only ran e30 maybe a handful of times I would say. So this is pretty strange to me honestly. Any help is appreciated.

Having a similar issue, getting really bad hesitation while I give it throttle. No check engine light on, have pte 5858 with supporting mods, tuned by freek. I have changed and checked gap on plugs(ngk i step colder gapped to .026), stretched coil pack springs, cleaned maf, and reflashed my current map. Next plan of action is to pull the fuel pump and check out the internals thanks to the post above. The most recent work I've done to the car was an oil change about 1k miles ago. Grabbed a couple logs where i experienced the hesitation any advice? Thanks in advance.

Had a similar issue, ended up being a bad crank position sensor. Never threw a code

If you replace it, make sure you follow the core t procedure

I will check that out after I clean the internals. Are you talking about using the 303-507 pin to replace the sensor?

I know this a old thread but what fixed the issue cause I have the 2187 code ATM..

Sorry for revive the thread but also wanna know the answer

My first inclination here, what modifications if any are done on the car? Was it tuned for the modifications done to it?

Next, make sure all of your boost couplers are tightened appropriately. Again, check for leaks.

Everything is back..got it back.. cleaned the MAF, the couple that popped out was the passenger side.. has the same problem like this person had..bogs around those rpms..then kicks into boost..

Only code popping are 2177/2187 (same?) so yeah.. going down the rabbit hole now
