How-to Forge V1 Service

So I have had my V1 for years. It needs servicing to lube and clean up occasionally. So I opened it up. And once the top unscrewed, I got the torn remains of the top o-ring that nobody sells but Forge.

So on went stocker and I ordered the service kit from Edge for FMDVMAZ3. Note that Forge charges $15 shipping at minimum. Not Edge's fault.

Got time to do it this weekend. Comes with a new piston. That also had an o-ring my old valve did not even have.

Remove the top and push the piston out. Clean everything with a towel. I used a pick to remove the inner o-rings that were pretty wore out compared to the new ones. I wiped red grease on new o-rings and reinstalled. I also applied additional grease to them once installed.

Then greased up new piston and installed it gently. Screwed cap on after applying additional grease to the top o-ring.

Reinstalled after a little grease on bottom o-ring as well, and it is like new.

How often should this be done? I just got my V1 and want to make sure I can keep it maintained.

clean and lube only is fine. rip an o-ring and then you get to do the swap. The piston with the o-ring seal tho. That is interesting. As far as frequency, I would do it maybe 1-2 times a year.
