Importance of Accuracy in e85 Mixes

You can do that, but it's generally better to put the smaller amount of the mix in before the larger. I'd put in the E first, then limp to the pump and put in the regular gas.
 
That's a good idea...this is what I'll do. I'll hold on to two gas cans (yellow for e85) in the garage with about 3-4 gallons each of e85 and I will hold onto one gas can (red for gas) with 5 gallons of 91 octane. I'll store them on a shelf at an elevation higher than my tank and will use one of these:

I will then drive to a station, top off with fuel and refill the red gas can.
 
Go to ethanol station. Fill e30/whatever mix. Fill extra e85 cans. Run tank down. Take e85 can to most convenient station. Dump e85 in car. Pump 91 to mix. Win.
 
That's pretty much what I do. I have a 3 gallon VP race can which is like the perfect size. I take that to gas station. Put in 3-3.5 E85, then 7 gallons or whatever it takes to top it off for E30-E35ish. My E station is like 100 miles away, but we go there every so often for shopping anyways. I just buy in bulk while I'm there
 
@aaronc7, I really shouldn't complain then. I'm WAY less than 100 miles away from the one and only e85 station in my province.

Lucky I guess...hopefully they keep carrying e85.
 
I'm officially cornfed! I loaded my e30 map tune, tested my e85 station (which is actually e85!), loaded about 4 gallons in the tank and topped it off with 91 octane.

Looks like a peak gain of about 30 whp and 26 lb-ft of torque with SAE corrections! I'm sure I could get more with a datalog refinement, but I will save my money for my next mods...

I've uploaded my first datalog with it. No more WOT KR, but I did have a lean spike to 12.0 AFR at the start of my pull. I don't think it is anything to be concerned about?
