Intermittently loses all acceleration while driving then comes back

I recently purchased a 2006 mazdaspeed 6. Car will run beautifully some days with no issues and some days I can be driving along and my throttle response just cuts out completely as if the engine died. Last for a few seconds most times then out of nowhere it is back. What could be the cause.

Dude you've gotta give us more information than that. Just asking what it could be will lead to a lot of suggestions even possibly sending you down a route to look at something you don't need to look at.

Answer these questions first

Is the car stock or modified? If so what's been done

Is the car tuned at all? What tuning software is being used, what map are you using etc

How often does this issue occur and can you readily duplicate it if you try and make it happen?

Have you made any recent repairs or maintenance?

Has anyone else worked on the car recently?

How old is your battery, the condition of the positive and negative cables?
