I have a 2007 Mazdaspeeed 6
stage 1 luk clutch s
firdenza flywheel
complete cobb intake
cobb tuner
cobb stage 2 otc tune using 91 octane
stock turbo
cobb bpv
cpe rear motor mount
autotech hpfp internals
custom turbo back exhaust - hi flow cat, mid pipe resonator and magna flow mufflers
vvt fix with new timing chain and guides, v/c, int gaskets etc oem parts

Want to know if anyone is dealing with those guys and how is their product. My stock turbo is starting to burn oil.
 
Also check Rotomaster. They are in Surrey BC and Mississauga. My stock k04 chra is still rocking after 5 years of pushing 15 up to 18 psi. Only cost me $350 back then. They have complete units too. If you are going to spend $800+ dollars, check stratified for bnr s3 or s4 and fix it for good...worth the extra money.

I called BNR, he said its about 2 month wait to get a K04 reman.

I am thinking about a the S1 or the S2. Is the S2 plug and play? like if I get the S2 how easy will it be to set up with my Cobb AP?

S1 is a stock replacement. I wouldnt bother with the S2, the S3 cant be much more money and its more efficient at any boost level over the k04.

Pretty sure you can drive a S3 turbo car without a tune, only needed to extract full power potential.

That CW looks good for north of 49°folk looking for more k04 (aka Stock-holm syndrome, lol)

I would not drive the S3 without a tune not even in the slightest.

Yes S1 is plug and play and apparently S2 is as well, my inclination would be to tune for the S2 as well even though it may not be "required" but personally would give me piece of mind

For 800 dollars hell no lmao.
If you want a k04 either go BNR, Chris Ward, or just get some used one for like 150 bucks.
 
Appreciate the feedback everyone have to think about it some more. since I have the accessport already its tempting to get the S2 or S3, but I have been reading about tune section and my brain hurts. Is anyone from Winnipeg? would love to grab coffee or lunch (on me) and pick someone's brain on this stuff.
 
Honestly the car should have come with something like the S3 or CST4 from the factory. Grab one of those, intake/downpipe/hpfp/tune and let 'er rip.

S3 is a great turbo.
I'm in Winnipeg, unfortunately with current covid restrictions there's not much to do can't even go to a patio right now.
 
Spoke with Chris at CW, for the price I am leaning that way, I can always get an S3 down the road. When I replace the turbo probably do intake cleaning same time, just bought a Media blaster from Princess Auto. Littles scared to do this project but watched videos online for both. Biggest concern is toque specs on everything and not snapping any bolts when removing turbo from exhaust. I am thinking I probably should order studs expecting to replace a few. any other tips for the DIY project

Would not recommend this cause im a dumbass but i can confidently say i didnt torque any bolts on my S4 or graveyard mani and i havent had any leaks. Obviously different people have different techniques and someone might overtorque stuff that way and another may under torque but my shit has been just fine with my hands as the gauge lmao.
 
Absolutely order nuts and studs to have on hand. In fact, order enough to be able to replace all of them in event of worst case scenario.

Personally I would clean your Injectors while at it couple of places in town that can do them I went to https://injectorservice.com/ 24 hr turn around just make sure all your pins on the Injector that connect to the harness are straight before putting them back in.

For seals between Injector and head I recommend overspeed seals as for the Injector to fuel rail GB reman work well just make sure you use some silicone lubricant on them to seat the rail after https://mazdaspeeds.org/index.php?t...ing-rock-auto-fuel-injector-rebuild-kit.7407/

I'd also get one of adapted performance intake manifold and throttle body gasket

Excellent time to install a fresh PCV valve while you're in there.

When doing a bnr turbo it should come with fresh nuts and gaskets. If it wasn't for covid I'd come and wrench with you or you could come to my garage I've got everything needed.

Edit: flo tec is the shop right in Winnipeg that services injectors I know a few locals that have used them with success. Also a performance shop so if you need a hand from a mechanic they may be able to help Danny who owns it used to be the lead mechanic at speed factors but started his own

Wow, thanks Awafrican, really appreciate the offer , even though during Covid its not possible. I also relay appreciate the Canadian and local links for these services.
 
Forgot to mention if you do tear into the injectors while doing the intake valve cleaning (again given the age of the car if never been done highly recommend). Get the Majinspeed Injector stud kit means you don't have to deal with the torx bolts on them when you put your injectors back in. Not needed but having dealt with both, I'd spend the money again. Don't know what budget looks like but if there's room it's nice. But not needed at all.

I just did all of this on my car last month, quite fresh in my mind, if you're looking for instructions plenty around here but generally even if it's not a cork sport specific part of they make it they have excellent instructions.

If you're trying to find anything on here the best way is actually to google it using site:mazdaspeeds.org follow, for example if you want to know about injectors you'd enter
"Injector site:mazdaspeed.org" into le Google and it'll bring up all the threads works great. Sadly search function in the forum isnt as good were trying to improve it.
