Car blew up a few months ago with 155k on her and 370ish to wheels with a CS Turbo and e30. It vented the block and I am in the process of rebuilding. This will be a slow adventure as I have a daily driver so I am not in a hurry. I will update as I can. This is where she sits now. I have never built a motor before so this will be an adventure for sure.

The plan for this build will be to max out the CS with JMF PI. I am also thinking of going with an s5 and selling the CS but I kinda want the spool of the CS. We will see , I can always upgrade later. I would like to get the CS exhaust mani if it ever actually comes out as well.

Lol, fixed it, I thought I could copy and paste but it just tried to link it to my own google. Imgur FTW!
[doublepost=1539141188][/doublepost]So far I have gotten the fluids drained, headlights and bumper removed. I also pulled the intake and battery.

I also recently installed some new LED lights above that stall which are awesome and very easy to install. I only have 6 of the 8 going in that pic.

[doublepost=1539141542][/doublepost]I also found a block in WI that I will be picking up this weekend it comes with a head and a machined crank for 600$ so not too shabby. I thought about using the crank but was told it's not worth messing with over sized bearings and it seems everyone and there mom has a crank lying around plus mine might be ok. I also picked up an engine stand and borrowed a lift / leveler from a buddy. I have not found where the hole is in my block but I have found pieces of metal that look like block. None of the fluids looked like they had mixed so not sure what that means. It looks to be behind the intake somewhere.

I am heavily awaiting that manifold. The teaser they posted a week or so ago has me really eager for it. Looks like a quality piece and they say pricing will be competitive... So here I sit.

RiP the JD Meat-Machine for now.

Why JMF PI setup and not a Damond ST PI setup? I know they're a similar price all in but if you're going for a "small" turbo the ST mani might be more well suited for that.

Yes, I am on the fence about using it as it is ghetto jbwelded but I did test it at 40 psi for 1 hour and it held up no issues. So..... I felt more comfortable sending it on the stock motor as I was expecting it to blow but I never got a chance to use it. So......

Well I got the spare head torn down to the buckets, this is all new to me so bear with me. I will keep posting pics that don't really matter as in the assembly they may matter lol. Here she is all gross. Was really easy to take apart not in the car and with air tools. It did have spare injectors #winning

I used the Lisle tool to remove the keepers , it worked great.
I also picked up a few more things to help with the head work.

you have spent more time than I did prepping to do the head work. I was just "send it" with a grinder and hope it works.

:-) A large part of this build is me taking my time and learning shit which I do enjoy as much as going fast.

I got a little further over the last few days but just a little bit here and there. I was able to get the e30 drained out of the tank using the jumper method. I did have to reconnect the resistor on the rail next to the fuse panel as it goes to the fuel pump. I then ghetto rigged some jumper cables to a battery and put the fuel in my van "flex life".

Jumped fuse panel for fuel.

Pumped it in to my jug for transport.

After I did this I noticed my vacuum plug on the CS was cracked which I am sure was not helping me with boost. I decided to take the other port off so I could just block it as keeping an eye on a plug down there sucks. Then this super cool thing happened where it just broke off. Maybe @CorkSport - Derrick can be some assistance with this. I will likely have to disassemble it and drill it out. This is not super high on my priority list but still sucks the butts.

Now that the fuel was out I could start tearing the car down so more so I kept working away until I cleared up the front clip to remove it. I used a jack with some 2x6 boards to hold it up while I removed it. This worked really well but took some balance and I had to work slow.

Now that I had that out I could inspect a little further and I found a nice window into my block right above the starter.

That is all for now. I will likely start taking easy to get off stuff on the front before I pull the motor. No ETA on any of this just doing it as I can.
