Hey Mazdaspeed Club!
Old member (Federighi) under new username after the reboot. I created a few threads in the road race section back in the day. Finally got the chance to bring the Speed3 back out on track. Last DE was in 2019 and I haven't driven Laguna since 2015, so there was a lot to take in. The NC and I were trading laps all day sub 1:47. Front brakes took a beating and could use a refresh but there was definitely more on the table once I become familiar with the 441's and AD09's. I hope to work with my suspension shop to fine tune the spring rates for a driving dynamic that suits my style of driving and current balance of the car.
New setup is Feal 441+ coilovers, track alignment, Advan RD-D2 17x9 +45, Advan AD09 255/40, Wilwood BBK, chassis bracing, sway bars, etc. Engine is basically stock other than a few select mods for heat management and efficiency (radiator, oil cooler, large tmic w etune for events).
Overall a very fun and successful shakedown with truly impressive performance for a daily driver that only has a few select mods and is CA emissions compliant. I have a Sonoma DE coming up in Nov that I will be sure to share more impressions, development and most importantly photos.
Feel free to drop a line with any questions or comments and thanks for looking!
