lighted meth tank

Soi was fixing a meth leak i found in my trunk and i was filling the tank up and i get tired of not being able to see how much meth is in so i don't over fill the tank. I usually try to put a flash light next to the tank but i can't always find one and is not the best solution.

So i made a little light out of led strips and put it under my tank. Used eye ring for negative and alligator clip for positive. my battery being in my trunk i can hook it up any time I'm filling up.

Here are before and after pictures. it turned out to look very very cool. tmp_7181-20160714_224447-115129902.jpg tmp_7181-20160714_224453-805768554.jpg tmp_7181-20160714_224912319027100.jpg tmp_7181-20160714_224447-115129902.jpg tmp_7181-20160714_224453-805768554.jpg tmp_7181-20160714_224912319027100.jpg

yeah it looks tits, I could not have been smiling bigger when I fired the light up and saw how pretty it is. People could do this with a 4 qt side mounted tank too by placing the light behind it there. I thought about this the other week and last night I took action! I had to pull my subs out to change a fitting on my pump that allowed almost 2 gal of meth to leak in my trunk over the past week ..... I just filled that tank..........

That's one thing that will kinda suck if I jump on HTP's next 2.5 gallon metal tank production run (though there's no definitive date for it yet). Don't get me wrong - I'd love to have 2.5x the methanol tank capacity, especially now that I'm spraying a CM10. But with the opaque tank, it's much harder to easily get a sense of how much methanol I have remaining until my low fluid sensor activates. I kinda wish it'd be possible to have a graduated gauge, like we do for our fuel tanks.

I personally like the tank in the car so the ac keeps it cool. And i really love how this turned out

You will get tired of filling it so often. I went with trunk setup and ss lines an fittings and it will never leak in my car.

But on the feed side to tank is push connect and i just had a footing
Fitting fail and leak. But that's not under pressure like the output is

I'm spraying a D14 nozzle from a 2.25 gallon tank in the spare tire wheel well. I don't have a float sensor yet so I just make sure it's full before I take the car out on the weekends.20160602_131220.jpg

Get that float in there ASAP, especially if you're fueling dependent. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure ;)
Setup looks nice, BTW!
