I talked to a mobile verifier today. He is coming by Thursday to check out the car. Told him about the situation and he said he does not care so much about the car being in pieces, he just cares about the numbers being there. We should be good. I'll take the turbo off so he can see the engine number if he wants to write it down.

Just leave a dildo on the block for him, you'll never have to worry about passing inspection ever again.

Crapatalk, it sucks for free!

Unfortunately my last 12x8 inch assistant was given away during the last random box exchange, so that bribe was not an option Luck would have it that the guy was a car enthusiast and was really easy going about everything. The next thing on my list is to apply for a title and make an appointment with the DMV.

Also, I'm happy that my New AC lines have come in. Now I get to rip apart the dash and replace the lines that were cut off at the firewall.

It wouldn't happen to have looked suspiciously like this, would it? It's much blacker now from all the work its done.

Disassembly is finally completed. Now I can finally start to take more stuff apart. Because why not. Sound deadener/insulation is first on my list to be installed.

Has that all been painted? Looks really clean, good start!

The car is a 2008.5 with only 41k miles and was garaged most it's life. I'm happy with how well the way the engine bay cleaned up. I just used a rag to wipe off all the oil and dust.

What a great find, minus the whole wiring nightmare.
Wish mine was such a clean start...

It's easy to clean, just have to take every thing apart and clean it lol. I would choose a filthy engine bay as appose to the wiring and AC line nightmare that I went though. I ended up taking advice from a friend and ripped out the old wiring and installed a different harness. Good as new...

I'm kicking myself in the head right now. I knew the AC lines plugged into the HVAC unit inside the dash, but I had no idea about the spring clips that are right before the fire wall on the engine side.

I figured this out after I downloaded the shop manual for the car... now my passenger side of the car is ripped apart for nothing. I guess I could at least change my cabin filters while it's apart.

Nice progress James!! Looking forward on seeing this beast and give you a hand... I'm dreading ripping out my interior for the (2) 1/0 runs and all the extra wiring/fuses under the hood haha

Tonight I somehow found some spare time for myself. I took advantage of it by getting some work done on the car. I put my brake and clutch master cylinders back in and bolted them up to the firewall, reinstalled my main brake lines and mounted my ABS Module back on the bracket.

I need to figure out what clutch I am going to run soon. The car came with a ACT solid 6 puck clutch, but I'm thinking about selling it and going with something smoother like the Southbend stage 3 Endurance setup. I am conflicted though, as I do not want the clutch to slip. Will most likely just tune the car to keep my torque below 450ft/lbs

How high do you plan on revving? You won't need the Crowers unless you want more than 7500. Also, save yourself a benjamin and use the stock main bolts. They'll hold whatever power you can throw at them.

No plans to rev past 7k

I'm not really sure what the goal was that the Previous owner had. The engine was built and then never fired up. I'm skeptical though, I guess Pablo and Nick SpeedPerformance built this long block between March and June 2015 I don't know anything about theses guys. Should these guys be trusted or should I tear apart and rebuild the engine myself? Decisions, decisions.

Ah reading fail on my part. Didn't realize you already had the built engine. I'd wager that it's just fine. Wouldn't hurt to drop the oil pan and pull the valve cover and make sure everything is nice and lubed before you get it running.

Yea i would turn it a bunch by hand too, my biggest concern would be the two years it has been sitting around

Thanks for the input guys, both of your advice is sound. I feel better about not having to pull something else apart, seems to be a constant thing with this car. A few wheel studs are sripped/cross threaded, so i will be changing them all out with ARP studs maybe GM 100-7708s. Also, the boot on the transmission has a tear in it and i'll need to repair that as well. I should make a list and update the first post, trying to stay somewhat organized.
