I'm bringing this thread over here since it was recently bumped on the other forum. I'm also going to include the reply that I made to forum newb asking about the reliability of these engines.

As for these engines, I don't know how many forum members have purchased one, but we have averaged selling one or two per month since we listed the engine back in 2014. With all those that have sold, we have only had 3 with issues.

One guy is on his third engine covered under warranty. After the second engine blew, he had the car inspected at a mazda dealer to prove that the engines were faulty. The inspection proved the opposite... From the pictures the mazda tech sent us we were able to see the exact reason the engine kept blowing. There was an open hole in the intake behind the MAF where the valve cover vent line should have been connected. The car had been modified by the guys son unknown to him and had been running lean on all the engines. The engine was still covered under warranty the third time even though it clearly wasn't the engines fault.

The 2nd issue we've seen was with a small oil leak coming from the engine. A tech was sent out and the issue was repaired under warranty at no cost to the owner.

The third issue is still ongoing as it just recently happened, but it will be handled like the other two. Warranty will be utilized and the necessary repairs will be made.

Hope this helps you make a decision. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help you. Before we put this engine on the site, I personally put one in a blown speed 6 I had. The engine went back in with a GTX3071 and Full Race Exhaust mani. The car was tuned to make about 370whp and then sold. As far as I know it is still running on that engine now two years later.

Well since we all drive Mazdaspeeds here, we are all familiar with the term "Zoom Zoom Boom". Proper tuning, modding, and driving can save you but it can still happen to anyone. Some will use it as an excuse to go built motor, but some don't need a built motor and just want to stay stock. That is where this comes in.
